   What are the pros and cons of buying a new car or a used car?
   
   Sure we would all like a new car, with all the modern conveniences, but is it worth it? Could we be happy with an older car and not worry so much what it looks like?

   Absolutely! We have NEVER in our entire married life bought a new car, all our cars have been pre-loved. While you don't have a warranty from the manufacturer, you may get a short warranty from a dealer. But some of ours have been bought direct from previous owners. You are not as worried about getting the car a little dirty when it's not new.
   But the biggest benefit we found was that the car did not lose as much of its value. A brand new car loses a lot of its value as soon as you drive it out of the showroom, not so with a used car.

      Thank you for your answer. You're right when it's brand new, you want it to stay that way and you have to be very careful all the time, I know people who have new cars...they don't let you eat or drink anything in it. A used car is less stressful.

   New cars are great because of the warranty, everything is fresh and should last a long time, and it's perfect. But they come with a hefty price tags and that means longer loans, higher monthly payments, and higher insurance.
   
   Used cars are great because they're cheaper. Lower insurance, lower monthly payments if you take out a loan to pay for it, and you're not quite as worried about about the little flaws. Unfortunately the warranty is usually expired by the time you buy a used car but if you're handy then repair expenses can be much cheaper (and used cars will need repairs with the way people take care of vehicles these days).
   
   As far as your comment about people with new cars not letting other people eat/drink in their vehicles.. I used to have a 2000 Mustang. That car was my baby. I poured my heart and soul into fixing it up and making it my own. I didn't let other people eat, drink, or smoke in it. It wasn't a new car and it wasn't perfect, but I had no intentions of cleaning up messes left behind by people who didn't love my car as much as I did.

      Yes, new cars are great to have...everything brand new and clean, but they do come at a price. You can find a used car that is decent and detail it yourself for that "new" feel.  We all need to respect other people's cars and keep them clean. Voted+

   If you have the money then I would recommend going for something brand new. On the other hand it would be helpful if you can get a mechanic to check the vehicle overall. This way you will be able to get the best value for your money.
