What are some fundraising ideas aside from bake sales and car washes?

Do you know of any great fundraising ideas for children's schools that do not include the bake sale, car wash, or holiday catalog sale?

Right now our 4H club is selling candy bars.  I like selling candy bars because they are only $1 so we do not get many people to turn us down, we have them with us and do not have to take orders then deliver, and they seem very easy to sell compared to other things we have sold.

My daughter school also sells the candy bars and they are successful, but they only do once a year.

I think a fun fundraiser would be a talent show and make one talent marketing the talent show along with which student can sell the most tickets.

A talent show sounds like a great idea, I'll suggest that at our next meeting.

May I ask what group and/or purpose are you trying to raise funds for?

Event fundraisers like the talent show mentioned below can work.  Options could include a concert, spaghetti supper, students vs. staff basketball game, or a combination of multiple of those!  Calendar raffles are also popular.

I like the student vs staff game.  I've never seen that one done in our school.  Thank you for the suggestion.

I did it at the MS I attended and the Catholic HS I taught at had a HS vs. local priests basketball game marketed as the "Men In Black" game to raise money for seminarians! Also included a staff vs. faculty game w/ elementary kids! Tons of fun.
