   I had not heard anything about it.  Is this just another White House Petition?  Or is this one with teeth? She basically wants to disarm all Americans.  I'm sure the criminals will play nice and turn in their guns also.

      It is a White House petition...whether or not it has teeth....I say it does, as it makes a statement as to how we either will or will not accept global governance.

   If banning automatic weapons is somehow constitutionally acceptable than I really don't see any way to argue that it is any less constitutional to create another class of weapons and then ban them. It seems pretty well established that the 2nd Amendment is not some absolute unrestricted right. There is absolutely no basis in reality for a charge of treason.
   
   As for Feinstein wanting all guns, that is pure Infowars type of Horse-excrement. Their cherry-picked quote was made in the context of banning assault weapons, which never actually happened. Only the manufacture of new assault weapons/large clips was banned. It did nothing to existing weapons or pre-ban stock. That's what she was talking about.

      That specific quote was from a specific interview in which she was talking about an outright ban on assault weapons not all guns. That is a fact. Wish it away if want.

      We are fourth for most murders with a gun. Of course guns will still exist, but there would be less of them. So these nut jobs have a harder time getting access to them.

   No, and I don't plan to. Senator Feinstein is a very popular politician in California and she's represented our state well.
   
   The United States defines treason as:
   
   'Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.'
   
   Or perhaps you and those online who signed the petition do not understand our laws?
   
   Perhaps you do not understand that we also have the right to free speech? That our representatives have the power to amend and create new laws? That it's perfectly legal to seek action and adhere to a belief in banning guns? That our states could one day decide to overturn the 2nd amendment?
   
   I'm not advocating that we do, but every citizen has the right to work toward that end if they wish. Doing so does not equate to levying war against our people or aiding our enemies.

   I don't understand why guns are such a large part of the "American way of life". Do you really need an automatic rifle to hunt? I don't think so. An automatic handgun I can see. But seriously. Why do you really want automatic weapons?  In the last two months two men have walked into public locations, that our supposed to be safe, with automatic riffles and murdered people. Is your right to carry arms more important then public safety?
   
   Should we all start carrying guns with us every time we go to a movie theater? I'm sure you'd say yes, because someone would be able to shot the attacker. But that's nonsense. In the time it takes you to pull your own gun out you might already be dead. Did you think of that?
   Do we really want armed guards posted at every public school in the nation. That would not only scare the daylights out of children, it would also cost a lot of money. Who pays for that? We do. The ability to purchase and use heavy artillery does not make anyone safe.
   
   You should really take a look at the second amendment and it's history. The reason we have a right to bear arms is because our founding father's were actively engaged in a revolt. The need for armed citizens was important to them, so that our country could exists. However the right to bear arms was only permitted in a well regulated militia. So unless you're a part of a well regulated militia there is absolutely no reason for anyone to be permitted to purchase automatic rifles at all. They weren't designed to kill animals. They were designed to kill people.
   
   Shotguns and handguns fine. But automatic rifles. Come on. Times have changed and this steadfast dedication to a right written over two hundred years ago is ridiculous. Do you believe that only white male land owners have rights? The founding father's believed that too. Times change and regulations need to change. Look around, times have changed and something needs to be done.
   
   We also have the right to revolt. There have been lot's of people who have not agreed with our governments practices. Holding on to the "right to bear arms" is ridiculous. Do you hold steadfast to all the outdated statements in the constitution? No, it's just this one. Absolutely ridiculous. This whole debate is ridiculous. Obviously something isn't working and it needs to change. Get over it.
