   What has been your best experience in "repurposing" an item that might normally be thrown away?
   
   What have you taken, that would normally be thrown out, and made it into something else that was useful?

   When my daughter was a toddler, I took a down vest that I had "outgrown."  Stitched down the sides and trimmed it and I was astonished how nice it was for her to have. She wore it all the time and I was going to toss it since it didn't fit anymore.  Most often when I attempt that kind of thing it does not work or I end up making something that looks like I dragged it in from the north 40.

   We repurpose almost anything we can. I'd say my best project so far has been my toddlers changing table. We got it then when she was around 6 months old we realized we never used it. So I took the two long side rails off and it is now my computer desk. It is perfect for me. Computer on top, printer/scanner on the second shelf and the bottom shelf mostly gets used for me to prop my feet on. We also reuse wipe containers, jars, egg cartons, and body scrubbers just to name a few.

      Egg cartons are our yearly seed starter pots and body scrubbers get turned into tire and rim scrubbers.
