How do I move an article from another site without it becoming a duplicate copy?
If I have an article on another site that I would like to move to Hubpages, will it show up as duplicate if I publish it after I have unpublished it on the other site. Do I need to delete it from the other site?
Just move it here and keep it unpublished, delete it from the other site....and wait until you it doesn't show up in a Google search before publishing it here.
You absolutely need to delete it from the other site...and then you probably need to wait a couple of days for it to be de-indexed.
HubPages may reject it if you republish it too soon after removing it from another site. Many people wait until it no longer appears in Google Cache, and then move it. You can check if Google still has a cached copy by searching for the exact url or exact title.
A simple method is to rewrite the article with the same theme and facts. In that case you need not remove it from the other site

Hello, here's something I've been wondering about for a while.I have a few articles on another site, which has recently announced that it's no longer going to pay international contributors. So I'm thinking it would be a good idea to move a couple of them over to HubPages (where we're...

I used to have an eHow account, but when they closed the Writer's Compensation Program back in May/June, I removed my articles from the site and deleted my account.A couple days ago, I republished one of the articles here, and yesterday I got an email informing me that the hub had been unpublished...

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't find the answer. If I have written on HubPages am I allowed to publish that hub on another site? I may alter it a little to make it shorter, but it would basically be the same and I'm unsure if this is allowable. Comments, please.
