How can I add screen shots to my Hub?
I have written one hub based on Excel Sheet. So I have taken many screen shots of it. But I don't know how to add those screen shots to my hub.
Are these screen shots taken from your handphone camera of digital camera? If yes, they can be transfer to your hardisk and you could insert photo to your hub. Most photos are jpeg files which are accepted in hubages.
I have created screen shots by using print screen button.
Open the default paint program that came with your computer and paste the screenshot that's being held in memory into it. Hitting the print screen button automatically puts the information into memory. Once there in the paint program you can crop the section you want and copy/cut and paste it into a new paint file which you'll then use the 'save as' feature and name it. Usually I save as .jpg, but I'm pretty sure .png will work as well. Once its at that stage you upload it like any other image you've got on your hard drive.
1.Press print-screen button on your keyboard.
2. Create a new Bitmap image.
3.Open it with pain or any photo editing tool like Photoshop and Gimp.
4. Paste (Ctrl+v)
5. Save as JPEG.
6. Upload to Hubpages.
Follow these simple steps to add screen shots to your hub.
1. Press F11 to have full screen view
2. Use keyboard to press print screen button which is next to F12
3. Click on start menu and click run..or just use your keyboard and press window button+R (window button could be found between CTRL and ALT key)
4. In the run command type mspaint
5. Paste the screen shot or just use CTRL+V button
6. Choose a filename and save as jpeg, jpg format
7. Add Photo Capsule
8 Select your screenshot from the location where you saved it and you are good to go.
You may check out my Hub as I also use screen shot for Hubs on Microsoft Excel tips and Tricks.
I hope it helps.
Best,
Nikhil
Thanks Mr. Nikhil, It will surely help me!!
Others here have answered your basic question well. If you want to go beyond that and get fancy, see my hub on "Photo Capsule Advanced Techniques."
While Print Screen and an image editing program works, I like to use Jing for screenshots. It's free, and you can easily take a screenshot of a portion of the screen instead of the entire thing. You can also make annotations on the screen easily (text, arrows, boxes to highlight stuff). It's simple and free, but useful.
Google "Jing" and you'll find a place to download the software for free.
And as other people have mentioned, to insert them into your hub you need to create photo capsules. These photo capsules appear in between text capsules or floated to the side. So, for layout purposes, it helps to break your article up into multiple text capsules. This way you can include a screenshot with each section/heading in the hub.

Hi, I just want to ask this. “Are we allowed to use screen shots from a YouTube video with a CC BY license?”Thanks for your comments.

Today I noticed that when I click on the 'go right' arrow in Amazon capsules, it brings me to the top of the page and I have to scroll down to the capsule again to click on the 'go up' arrow to place it next to a text capsule. Is this a glitch/bug? I can't recall I had this problem earlier and...

Is taking a screen shot of lets say the homepage of hubpages. Is that a legal way or a good way to stay out of copyright problems?
