What have you done for the betterment of humanity lately , without being asked ?
Locally , nationally , or for your next door neighbor ?
We, or more specifically my wife is helping my friend (Englishman in Germany) with a load of forms he needs to fill out.
I wrote a hub in July last year "Living with Aneurysm" for my long time friend Michael explaining about his wife's problem a few years ago, that she had. These days with everything coming together she now has Dementia and needs help.
Living in Germany, Michael comes clear with most things, but it's the damn paperwork which is all in German that he is stuck with. His wife, although German doesn't know what's going on or have any idea what it's all about. So we drive over to his place when needed and help out as best we can.
My wife also rings the different departments for things that she needs, also making contact with the medical staff dealing with her case.
At the moment it's a case of waiting for the wheels to start moving.
We help as much as we can and as they say every little helps.

Here is a fun answer for your Ed. I am kind of an activist, and I am a preacher who preaches love. I raise really good children who contribute well. I pick up garbage on my hikes.
So with all that said, sometimes I just shut up and listen.
Why, answering your question would be bragging and then ruin the thing(s) I have done.
Hi friend
Still i have not done anything bigger that i can say that i have done something good for the betterment of humanity or society , But i m trying to do so and i wish if i can contribute a little bit then i think i have done something in my life.
hmm well to be very particular, i helped arrange a charity drive in my university two months earlier and this month we are going to arrange a concert for charity purposes.
Other then this, small tasks like picking up a piece of trash or helping out the elderly, helping people out with small everyday stuff is not something someone keeps a track of (at least i do not).
I suppose just becoming an excellent Human being would be the single best thing anybody can do for humanity.
For our family, teaching my boys to be better people and then help others be better by example. Improving humanity starts at home. After a big wind storm, my boys go out to clean up the neighborhood. Often including others to help.
I've tried to raise my children to be good citizens and treat other people with respect. These are things we all can do in our everyday lives that can better humanity. The gesture doesn't have to be "big" or heroic. :-)
There is nothing better than teaching your children well Adjoyce , Has anyone said Thank You for that ! If not here I am !lol......Thank you
I appreciate it, ahorseback. Being a parent is mostly a thankless job but we do it with love anyway! :-)
I smile and wish a good morning to passers by, offer help when I can. More often than not it's met with a mortified glare but I like to think my general area is slowly becoming a friendlier place. Positive thinking I'm sure but that's good enough for me.

What is one thing that you have not done that you really want to do?What is holding you back? In my case it is economic issues. My one 'thing' is that I would travel the world to the highways and byways to meet the people and learn about their way of life after I have seen e v e r y thing in these...

There are a large number of hubbers that are excited about their traffic going up a lot over the last week or so. That is good news. The big question asked is: why now? I think the reason HubPages is getting a better shake in traffic volume is because management decided to weed out a lot of...

I could get rich just collecting the strong judgements we make as a first response to a statement we disagree with. We are writers, and writers impact the world powerfully. Suppose we try to listen before we judge. Face it, in a religion forum we are going to disagree. But...

Joe Biden has on several occasions has shared his view that he feels President Trump is a racist. It would appear Biden is making this accusation a big part of his campaign strategy. In my view, he has opened a door that will only lead to revealing some very ugly skeletons in his own closet. ...
