Technically, the world's population can still expand hugely as there's enough land to provide crops for everyone. However, this needs switching from meat eating to a vegetarian diet (which is far healthier, obviously), and freeing up the millions of acres devoted to grazing beef. The world is not overpopulated. We could just do a better job of managing current resources and making provision for future needs.
