International aid, what does it do?
The UK now gives £1billion a month to the so called third world, where does the aid go and is it helping?
International aid does nothing except further drain the treasury of the country giving the aid, and foster corruption inside the country receiving the aid. A no win situation for both concerned, however one looks at it.
Strings are attached to international aid. It consists of about 1% of the gross national product of the donor. If anything, it serves to raise the buying power of the recipient nation so that its people, at least some of them, can buy the products of the donor. The donor makes profits out of the buying power much more than the amount of aid.
The one great lesson learned from the Great Depression in 1929 is that business goes to a stand still because of the lack of money to buy products of industry and agriculture. One remedy to lack of money in the hands of the poor is to give them cash allowances. However, such is taken back in the form of purchased products of industries.
I see very little profit from one nation giving another nations government money to buy the product of another nation.
Cash allowance to a US citizen is fought out in congress. Aid to a nation is another window with the same effect as domestic allowance, even more. Aid is an investment that makes profits through another form, neocolonialism.
International aid is supposed to be for the use of supplying third world countries assistance, either supply wise or monetary. However, whether it is used for that or not is unknown. It is something that they put in the budget so that if the need should arise they have it. Some believe that it could be used for personal use or just to look good on paper. But, as A. Villarasa, says it does drain money from the country that the governments are supposed to be taking care of.
It goes anywhere the Govt wants it to go like:-
Road making.
Schools in Rural India - ?
Govt Hospitals in places where it is needed.
Improve eliminate sanitation in Rural areas in India.
Print Books for School Children.
Drinking Water in Rural Areas.
Improve health for pregnant women in Rural India.
But mainly to fill pockets of contractors who take up the job but do a poor quality work and get money bribing Bureaucrats and others in Govt .Depts with out any check by AID GIVERS.
Because of a few unscrupulous politicians and generals, makes the whole nation a beggar. Sad, but it is the reality.
It makes you feel good in the short term, but creates dependent stagnation in the long term while draining your coffers. It's as simple as that, it makes you feel better.
Keeps people from starving and governments from collapsing into chaos.

First off, can anyone corroborate this?Second of all, if this is true, and assuming "overseas aid" normally means aid to extremely impoverished countries, then WTF?

Is America heading downward or upward? Is America as it once was disappearing into a new order? Or will America return to its basic principles? To put this in more clarification, is America becoming better or worse? Why? Why not?

Since when is America a "Christian" country? I challenge anyone to find a single mention of Jesus Christ in any of our founding documents."God" does not equal "Christ." I swear to God, yes. I swear to Jesus His son? No.One nation under God, ok. One nation under the...
