It was a Ford Anglia, my mother's car, and my father was teaching me. I used to come home with a sore neck from stress! We lived in Wales, which is very hilly and on my second time in the car, my father taught me how to do a "hill-start", then decided that I could drive home from where we were having lessons. This included a hill with traffic lights on it. Remember that all cars in those days were manual gear stick shift. (Even nowadays, there are many manual gear box cars in the UK.) It took me two complete cycles through the red lights to get up that hill and out onto the main road. And the driver behind me sat patiently and never once tooted his horn. Maybe he was just glad I didn't slide back into his car, because there was no dual controls on the car!

This is between 40 and 50 years ago now. In those days there were no seat belts. The Ford Anglia had rear fins and these were great for reversing, you always knew where the back of the car was at any time, because you could see the fins when reversing.

I took my driving test in a Ford Anglia, belonging to the driving school. It was a popular little car in those days. It was a 4 seater car but only had 2 doors, so the front seats had to tilt forward to allow the rear passengers to enter and exit. But the front seats did not have anything anchoring them to the floor; only where they were hinged. When I took my driving test and had to do an emergency stop, I hit the brakes so hard, the passenger seat tilted up and the driving examiner's papers all fell to the floor and he nearly went through the windscreen. I passed!

Mine was 'Sukuzi Alto'.... I had a great experience with my car, it was money's worth, gave me good mileage and spare parts were also quite cheap. All in all, I can say that Alto is a hassle-free car and it has so many satisfied customers across the globe. I am very particular while choosing my ride, I am a big fan of Hyundai cars. Owing to this, I currently have 'Hyundai Verna', the car is fast and looks amazing. I hope most of the people agree with me.
