Obama and Castro shake hands: will it bring new changes in international politics?
When you take the greatest power on earth, for over a century and you "hug" a horrible despot and you ease sanctions on a nuclear threat you change the world.
Now one man can not act alone for a "nation" but one man can effect "change" in our world.
Iran and Cuba have about a year to respond to such outreach. It will not be our president that will change international politics for the next 40 years it will be the response given his peaceful gestures.
No, it was just a photo op for Obama to show how much he was entering into the spirit of Mandela's legacy of bringing enemies together. It won't change anything substantial. Having said that, its a hell of a lot more than he did to win a Nobel peace prize, so I suppose by their standards he should get another two or three of those for this.
Being polite and shaking someone's hand at a memorial is just what it is a handshake.
