I have two new followers recently and neither has anything published on hubpages. How do I find out
I have recently gotten two followers that have no published content on Hubpages. How do I get them to unfollow me?
It matters to most people who (they) follow. Why do you care who follows (you)?
The vast majority of questions concerning followers usually deal with new hub writers trying to figure out how to "gain" more followers!
My experience has been many of these people without any content are often following you in hopes that you will follow them. The first thing I do is go onto their profile and then click their activity. Odds are you will see they have been clicking the "follow" option on several writers.
Generally a week or few weeks pass by and once they realize you aren't following them they will un-follow you. I've never been one to put too much into having followers, or "friends" on Facebook, or Twitter followers...etc
I guess I needed to be more clear, I am curious whether there is a 'real' person behind the follow, or if it is simply spam. I am not attached to how many followers I have, I do however, check out the profiles of followers. Thanks for your input.
Hi ShyeAnne.
I do the same as you , check out their profile and if there´s nothing published or I don´t like what they write about I don´t follow them back. I never thought of it as being spam before but you could be right. I have no idea how you would do an un follow from someone for yourself but maybe the trick as dashingscorpio say´s is just not to follow them, you could also deny any fan mail you may get too.
HubPages doesn't have a system which allows you to block people from following you. There is a guy who plagiarized some of my HubPages content and posted it on his blog. I got his hosting service to remove it with a DMCA complaint and asked HubPages to prevent him from following me because he just wanted to know when I published a new article so he could steal it. HubPages said no and the guy is still following me and still has a few Hubs on the site.
I would suggest that you check every week to make sure your Hubs are not stolen. It really makes no sense for someone with no content to follow people, but HubPages allows it. I wish they didn't. I would not suggest that you email the person, because then he would have your email address. Basically, there's nothing you can do except ignore it or post on the Forum and see if you get a better answer from the staff than I did.
I appreciate your answer to this. I am surprised there is not option to disallow follows, I do not know how to check to see if any of my work has been copied. Where do I go online to check for that , if you don't mind answering another question?
You can use free tools, such as:
plagiarisma.net
copyscape.com
plagiarismcheck.org
The best way, if you have the time, is to copy 32 characters (including spaces) of your text and past it inside quotations into the Google search box.

I would like to read new articles that have just been published on HubPages, but I am at a loss as to where to find them. Clearly I am missing something here, but what is it?

I've noticed that when it comes to traffic, my hubs on network sites (ex. turbofuture, pairedlife) perform a lot better than my hubs on hubpages.com. I'm just wondering if there are certain ways we can do to increase the views for these hubs other than just sharing them on social media. I'm asking...
