A Compaq Hp presario windows vista messing with my head. Daughter played with pc changed password
I have been having an issue with my Hp Presario f700 windows vista. I have forgotten my password I have read every forum on how to put my pc into factory reset. But still nothing's working. I'm a starving student in government housing I receive 250 a month to live off of I can't afford another competer. This one I WAS lucky enough to get free.what can I do?
There are password reset programs. In this situation, you will have to use the a version that boots from a CD. In other words, once you have a password reset CD, you will boot up from it (they are usually Linux based) then use the password reset program that is usually selected from a basic menu to run. Most often they allow you to default the password to blank and others will let you change the password. I have not seen any that will show you the password.
You will need to borrow another computer to download and burn the boot CD. All this might sound a little hard to do but it is not. Once you have the boot ISO file, there are free utilities that will allow you to burn it to a CD. Windows 7 has burning capabilities in it already too so if you borrow a computer with windows 7, you just need to get the password reset iso.
I have used Hiren's Boot CD. It does not have to be the latest version. This CD contains many tools but the one you will select from the menu once you boot from it is "Offline NT Password & Registry Editor” . Once you select that option, you then select "NT/2000/XP/Vista/7 Password Changer". The rest will be self explanatory.
Keep the CD, you may need it again.....
Take it easy. Now I collect three solutions to help you solve this problem. What you have to do is to prepare for a blank USB/CD drive.
Solution 1: Use a Vista password reset disk.
You could easily create a Windows Vista password reset disk through Vista's control panel with a USB flash drive.
a. Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safely -> User Accounts.
b. Create a password reset disk on the left pane.
c. Click “Next”, follow the forgotten password Wizard to create a Vista password reset disk.
On the logon interface with incorrect password, click the reset password link and there will be wizard. Now you can recover Windows Vista password with the created password reset disk on your PC within seconds.
Solution 2: Use free Vista password recovery tool
There are two popular tools: Ophcrack and Offline NT Password & Registry Editor. The former which is based on rainbow tables will spend you much precious time to download but just can reset passwords less than 14 characters. The latter supports Windows NT/2000/XP, but not AD password recovery.
Solution 3. Professional Vista Password Software
Windows Password Rescuer Professional, With this software, you can easily login your PC by burning a bootable CD/DVD or USB flash drive.
Why would the tools be so popular for PC users? That’s because the tools do not require special PC technique or skills. Users can quickly get out problem within 10 minutes.

Of the two approaches to downgrading Windows, the first is more convenient, as it doesn't require you to wipe your hard drive. You will need a genuine Windows XP installation CD; if all you have is a recovery disc, use the "Start from Scratch" process that follows. Before you proceed, make...
