Are there full-time hubbers on here or do you use other writing platforms as well?
Trying to decide if I want to leave my full-time 8-5 job (very unhappy) can one be successful writing hubs full-time or do need additional writing platforms? I have cut my expenses so low that I only need to bring in $2000/month and want to know if this a possibility?
No, being a fulltime writer here is not likely. I believe the team mentioned the top earner gets about $30,000 per year from the HP ad program, but that's one person out of thousands. You'd need thousands of views per day to reach that.
I'd recommend using Hubpages as a way to test the waters. Write a hub on a topic and if it works well, do a whole website on that topic and link to it from the hub. I have about 30 websites.
Having your own website means your make the rules and don't need to change in accordance to a third party. Plus you don't run the risk of being banned, being limited in your choice of affiliates or giving away 40% of your impressions.
Thank you, that gives me something to think about.
More than 50% of all Hubbers earn less than $10 a month here. Less than 5% earn over $2000 a month. That should tell you something about your chances.
Besides, it would be very unwise to base your career on a website you don't own. Three of HubPages' competitors - Squidoo, Yahoo! Voices and Helium - have all gone out of business in the last year. How would you feel if you wrote hundreds of Hubs, then HubPages closed?
Unfortunately I think you're a couple of years too late to make a living on revenue-sharing sites like HubPages. All of them have struggled to survive in recent years - HubPages seems to be the only one which is still reasonably successful but earnings are still way down on 2010.
In 2010 I knew many writers who made a real living writing online (as opposed to just surviving). I know only two now - all the rest are freelance writing, or offering SEO or website design services, or have had to go back to offline work.
Do you know what SEO, backlinking, keyword research mean? If not, you have a lot to learn before you stand any chance of earning online.

It seems people have lost their passion for HubPages. Why lot of active members now remain so silent. Why so many hubbers migrated to other writing platforms. I am observing a total lull in the hubbing activities of many active writers here. For many, including me, the traffic and revenue are going...

As per my expectation most of our hubbers are working part time here. During their spare time they write hubs but have you ever thought to post hubs full time and earn unlimited money ( because of your quality hubs) because here you do not have any boss to give you order.I do not have such plan yet...

Why do hubbers stay loyal to Hubpages? So many hubbers say they enjoy their time and contribution at HubPages when there are many other similar and possibly better platforms out there. Why is that so?
