   What is the best fiction book you have ever read and why?
   
   there is alot of good books out there, the best ones are those which changes your persepective on life and makes it better, the ones that give you wisdom and that could be easily done if you get hooked by a beautiful story, it doesn't need to be complex as long as it is creative, so what is the book that have gave you these sentiment and made you clutch to it so bad.

   The Clan of The Cave Bear series by Jean Auel. 
   
   It is so rich with description, you feel like you're really there.  The story of Ayla's life is masterfully told with amazing wisdom and wit.  When I read the final book, I was so sad because I was saying, "Good Bye" to my friends.  The book also got me interested in ancient cultures.

   I think Illusions by Bach fulfills all the criteria you mentioned. Many people find the book hard to put down and read it from cover to cover.

   For me it has to be Isaac Asimov's Foundation Triology. It was originally a set of 3 books that won the infamous Hugo Award in the 60s. I have found such genius in this book, every sentence is necessary and melded together to create a most wonderful and if I may add quite believable thesis; especially as our world's trajectory seems to be accelerating in a way quite similar to this series... Yet I cannot decide between this and John R. R. Tolkien's Lord of The Ring series... Another brilliant masterpiece of such complexity and simplicity in its thesis. Interestingly enough both of these series have a link, the link being Victor Hugo. The Foundation Triology one the award named after him and John R. R. Tolkien were friends and members of a small Kabul of writers that met and critiqued their works at an Oxford pub called the The Eagle & Child...

   So far, I have two. They are East of Eden by John Steinbeck and To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Both impact how I view the world in huge ways.

      I love To Kill A Mockingbird.  That is my 2nd favorite book of fiction.  I am impressed by how Harper Lee gives such an intimate look into the lives of the characters without making the reader feel like he/she is intruding.  Love the movie also.
