   Is the Wii U worth getting for Christmas, and what games are coming in 2015 for the console?
   
   Having grown tired of recent "triple A" releases in video games, I decided a few days ago to get out my Gamecube and play one of my favourite games, Super Mario Sunshine. I recalled just how much fun I'd had with Nintendo's games, and have pondered if I really should get a Wii U.
   
   Money's tight at the moment so I can't get one even for Black Friday, but perhaps for Christmas - what games can you recommend that are coming in 2015? Also, what can you tell me about its controller(s), backwards compatability and current library and longevity of those games? Thanks in advance for your responses. ^^

   Personally I'd say yes to the Wii U. I've loved every minute of it, and whilst theres a lot of lacking third party support, this gen they've not been that well received any way.
   
   Mario Kart 8 is actually one of the best games I've played in a long time and the newly released Smash looks amazing. I'd recommend that if you can stretch to it, the Mario Kart 8 Wii U bundle is great value for money.
   In 2015 Zelda is coming out, along with the hint of a new Star Fox. The controllers for Wii will work on the Wii U, but the Gamecube controller wont, bar when it comes to Smash Bros. It'll play all the Wii games and so far I've rocked up around 400 hours on the console. Oh, and you should be able to pick up Most Wanted fairly cheap now. It's on par with the PC version in terms of visuals, it's a real treat.

   Zelda is coming out!! I definitely think the Wii U would be a good investment to make! Also a great Christmas Present for kids or adults of any age(:

   So far, this is what's been announced for Wii U in 2015:
   
   The new Zelda (though I wouldn't be surprised to see it slip into 2016)
   Yoshi's Woolly World
   Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
   Splatoon
   Xenoblade Chronicles X
   
   There's also that Fire Emblem X Shin Megami Tensai game that hasn't shown its face since it was announced. In addition, the new Star Fox that was teased at E3 this year could be 2015.
   
   All of those games look promising so look into those if you haven't already. The Wii U is backwards compatible with Wii games and Wii peripherals. You'll definitely want a Wiimote or two. If you owned the original Wii, you can transfer any Virtual Console games to the Wii U.
   
   I've owned a Wii U since launch and these some games I recommend:
   
   New Super Mario Bros. U
   New Super Luigi U
   Super Mario 3D World
   Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
   Lego City: Undercover
   Bayonetta 2
   Super Smash Bros.
   The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD
   Mario Kart 8
   Shovel Knight
   The Wonderful 101
   
   I assume you have either a Sony or Microsoft console as well. You'll defintiely want to hold on to those. You're probably aware, but Wii U third-party options are slim pickings.

   If innovation is your thing then a Wii U is a great bet. To be honest, it's already worth getting for Bayonetta 2, but the back catalogue of Nintendo games already available are great deal sweeteners!
   
   Ok, so third party support is not so hot. But with greats like Zombie U, Mario (all of his Wii U appearances are awesome) and Smash Bros, you cannot go wrong.
   
   Backwards compatible with the Wii, nunchuck and remotes but unfortunately NOT the Gamecube, which I have some great games for...
   
   The Nintendo E Store is pretty cool, with some occasional discounts and a virtual console affair, mostly games from SNES and game-boy colour at the moment.
   
   I really like the fact that if the kids are watching TV, I can still play on the small screen in the controller, even if the colour saturation is a little washed out.
   
   Oooh, and Monster Hunter 3! Hardcore game and well worth a look!

   I'd say it's worth getting if your a fan of Nintendo franchises. Mario Kart 8, Super Mario 3D World, New Super Mario Bros and Super Smash Bros are all strong entries into their respective franchises. And 3rd party efforts like Hyrule Warriors and Bayonetta 2 seem to be getting high praise. If you're not a fan of Nintendo franchises, then these games probably won't win you over.
   
   Having recently purchased a Wii U I can say that the game pad seems under-utilized. In multiplayer games everyone just ends up using a wii-mote. Single player games might be a different story, but I haven't played any yet. Old Wii games and controllers are still compatible with the Wii U but it no longer has the gamecube built in. As for future games I have no idea. I'm looking forward to the new Zelda, but very little info has been released at this point.
