   Are non-Australian/New Zealand readers familiar with the Anzac legend?
   
   And its upcoming 100 year anniversary? I am considering writing a hub on it.

   Are you talking about Gallipoli?  If so, by all means write about it. Such a compelling subject.  The two nations gave so much in WWI and the effects linger today.

   Yes - in fact Gallipoli overshadows other achievements to an extent, and that would be part of what I'd write. I've read about a few battles that helped turn the tide of the war (no doubt different nations would have their own stories of important valour and sacrifice) and also in wars since. It's a big one this year being the 100 year anniversary.

   Nope! I would first be curious 'why' a legend and not just an event. Was it heroic in the line of David and Goliath, Herculean, or ???

      It is the term colloquially used here in Australia about the events on the beaches of Gallipoli 100 years ago (and in fact it is part of the story of Russell Crowe's recent "The Water Diviner"- a film which has good balance in terms of countries..).
