Sodas are high in sugar. Sugar free sodas have more harmful chemicals and additives than the sugared ones. I can't think of any health claims for sodas.
Coffee in moderation may be good for most people. It is high in antioxidants and is said to have health benefits that help reduce risks of heart disease, diabetes, dementia, colon cancer and a few other diseases.
I rarely drink either one, but I think coffee is less harmful.

Hands down, soda is worse for you. Black coffee actually has a number of health benefits, it only gets unhealthy when people add copious amounts of cream and sugar. Soda, however, has no redeeming qualities. It's just sugar and carcinogens (if it's a dark pop).

Soda robs your bones of calcium. It plays around with the acid/base balance of the body. These two things are true even when there aren't sugar or sweeteners to contend with.

Coffee does contain caffeine. If ingested lightly or moderately, along with a healthy diet and other liquid intake, it can have true benefits to the body. Some people drink it with half and half, and limit fat consumption at other times of the day. It's a great strategy to level off blood sugar first thing in the morning. There's a small amount of sugar in half and half, and enough fat to sustain until food can be ready.

Coffee can be prepared as an iced beverage, with milk, half and half, or black. A decaf version of the same drink is delicious. Stevia can be used to sweeten.

    Coffee wins the contest.

definitely soda, full of sugar, brings cavities to teeth and gas in the stomach. Coffee has a few benefits though, anti cancer and good BM
