    Is it really racial profiling?

When you have crimes that are committed by a large percentage of a race, ethnicity, or religion, is it really racist to profile them?
Or is it just good police work, as there is a high probability that certain people are more likely to commit certain kinds of crime.
Is it any worse than the TSA forcing all the passengers to take off their shoes, and even more intimate areas of privacy because they can't really detect terrorists.

It has been show that TSA security can be bypassed, so why are we still using these reactive security measures?
    PROFILING is better

Profiling doesn't work, especially for the TSA, because a majority of people who slip armed weapons past them are WHITE MEN. Not Muslims, not PoC, but white American men. The TSA has a 95% fail rate when it comes to detecting weapons or bombs, even with profiling.

Crimes committed by a large percentage of a race, eh? So a handful of radical Muslim men equal a large percentage of a race or religion?

So over 3000 people are killed by a few Muslims, I guess nothing.
My point is that profiling is a criminal detection tool, and it shouldn't be discarded. It can be used more intelligently.

Islam isn't a race. It's a religion. And, yes, for choosing that religion they probably should undergo more scrutiny in TSA security lines than non-religious people. One's name is a sufficient-enough identifier for being Moslem. It's better than everyone getting scrutinized, which is what we have now. I'd make an exception for Islamic families with children or the elderly.

Since white males tend to commit the majority of terror acts in the US with mass shootings or bombings, white males between ages of 17 and 40 should probably also be profiled.

Yes, but that doesn't stop it from being called Racist, as the term has been expanded to any kind of discrimination. Profiling should be used in any scenario where it can lead to the criminals. It is just statistical analysis in action.
