My brother claim it's time for the Globetrotters to hang up their cleats. Agree or disagree?
Without knowing your brother's argument, I can't say for sure. The Harlem Globetrotters have, in recent times, have been good ambassadors for the sport. As such, they've become more entertainers than basketball players. A Globetrotters game is seldom the place to see good hoops, unless they're playing college or pro players, and not the likes of the Washington Generals. As long as they continue to give fans a good time, I'm sure they'll have a place on the court. The Globetrotters are fun, but I prefer true competition myself.
His argument is that only old heads enjoy the globetrotters and that most do not even know the players anymore unlike the heyday with Meadowlark and Curly.
I took a look at their roster on Wikipedia, and the only name I recognized was their coach, Sweet Lou Dunbar. To your brother's point, I don't think the team has a player with name recognition like Meadowlark or Curly, but they have a niche in hoops.
You are doing better than me. I do not even recognize the coach. What is his claim to fame....

After years of beating the Washington Generals in arguably the most one sided rivalry in sports history, and helping grow the game of basketball globally for years, the Harlem Globetrotters have written a letter to the NBA demanding to be made into a legitimate NBA franchise. What are your...
