Should a Presidential debate moderator be neutral? Or should they act as a fact checkers?
Take a moment to follow my page for political hubs and engaging questions! Thank you!
When U have an UNPRECEDENTED "Serial LIAR", Swindler & Fraudster as Pseudo-Candidate in "Delusional Donald", it is ESSENTIAL that either the MODERATOR and or "Independant FACT-Checker" be placed ON Set to CORRECT the inveitable "Cavalcade of Trump LIEs" before they are allowed to PENETRATE the Social Fabric ~
What purpose does a DEBATE have if it's ABSENT of FACTUAL INFORMATION for Voters to Assimilate ??
Trump needs to be "CORRECTED & Humiliated" from this POINT Forward ~
So that means you're cool with them fact checking Hillary's multitude of lies? I don't think leftists can afford that.
AP has no need for honest fact check, not on his candidate especially. He's happy with serial name calling never citing anything specific to back his name calling up, just hit and run potty mouth that is all he is.
Moderators can challenge a candidate on things they say during the debate, but fact-checking in real time is impossible. Unless a candidate repeats a previous falsehood, we cannot expect the debate moderators to do quick checks in real time. However, since both candidates spew a lot of BS, I'm sure Lester Hold has challenges ready to go.
Actually, "REAL-Time" FACT-Checking is not ONLY Possible, but should be implemented ~ Trump could be "CALLED" on an almost ENDLESS List of his LIEs such as His Bankruptcy DENIALs, Law Suit SETTLEMENT Denials etc etc ~ 70% of his CLAIM's are LIEs
They should be neutral, because the "fact checking" sites are overwhelmingly liberal, minimizing left wing scandals or omitting discussions of what makes the left look bad while inflating what happens on the right.
For example, Trump's wife's naked photos being front page news and Trump University's failure, but little discussion of Hillary Clinton's use of a charity to collect 500 million in bribes from foreign officials for State Department approvals for trade deals or removal from human rights watch lists.
When they do "fact checking", it is almost always "tell the conservative they are wrong", almost never "criticizing the lying Democrat" though the latter is more often the case that needs correcting.
There shouldn't even be a "participating" debate moderator. Simply someone, not a journalist or anyone with an axe to grind, read the questions, time the responses and let them go at it. Let the audience decide for themselves w/o prejudice.

When Romney caught Obama regarding "a terrorist act in Benghazi" and then pointed out the White House didn't make that known for 2 weeks.Tomorrows headlines will be buzzing.

Before anyone else opens a forum about this, and I know the debate is still going on. However assuming you saw this thread after the debate, who do you think won? Did Biden beat Trump? Or do you think Trump owned Biden in the debate? Please discuss.

What is the role of a moderator during a presidential debate?Considering Candy Crowley's role, I don't think a moderator should:1. Pick questions that apply to only one candidate: How would you differ yourself from Bush? Clearly that question was only for Romney, Obama's answer to that...

Habee got the jump on the debate last time. This time, it's my turn.I predict that Obama is going to end up with 4 minutes more speaking time. Liberals will complain that Romney was rude, interrupted Obama, and bullied the moderator. Conservatives will complain that the moderator is biased, and...

Who is the next moderator for the last presidential debate?Chris Matthews? The way things are going it's almost always some crazy liberal. And why do the Republicans allow a liberal organization to come up with the moderators. That needs to be addressed.
