How are we supposed to find new writers and gain new followers with the new format for HubPages?

Finding new writers should be a snap, depending on what subjects or genre you enjoy of course. With Letterpile and other niche sites, only the best hubs are displayed for your entertainment and info. Besides, having lots of followers won't help you earn money if that's what you're here for.

Yes, I have a good number of followers but I didn't get them by following others in hopes they'd follow me back as others here do. Whatever, to each his/her own...

Randy, thanks for the response! I guess I am thrown by the new feature of having to sign out in order to view the new site homepage. Thanks for the food for thought. I'll be sure to check out your page.

Luke....We find new writers as time goes on and we cruise the community  & don't forget, they find us too.  Followers?  That's a whole other subject.  We gain followers pretty much the same way.  Just writing, reading, commenting & interaction.  You'll see some writers here with just a few dozen followers after 6 yrs and also writers with THOUSANDS of followers.
Honestly, at the end of the day, it doesn't mean what it seems like and also, although it's "nice" to be followed, it's not necessary in terms of income.  It's just not.
Using my own account as an example....It states I have around 800-plus followers.  I'm here 5 and a half years.  If I were to scroll through my list of followers right now, I would more than likely discover just a fraction of them are truly active, repeat followers I see all the time. Quite a few have left HP, some have been "BANNED" (ouch)  others are not terribly active on the site, some have even passed away (sadly).  It's varied, Luke and nothing to be concerned about.  You'll also find someone will follow you...and then you NEVER see them again.  LOL.
The big thing I guess is to just WRITE.  You get to know fellow writers as you go along.....some may become true fans/friends.
I do have a special "group" after 5 yrs of people I sincerely consider cyber buddies.  I am as fond of them and feel as bonded as I do with actual friends I've known all my life.  Those are the people we stay close to and interact with often, even away from HP.   I hope this answers your concern.  Peace, Paula

Paula, thank you for your input.  Followers don't make much of a difference to me.  It is always nice to know you have a fanbase, though.  Regardless, I'll be writing until I die or my hands fall off.  Thanks again smile

Exactly, Luke.....the truly devoted writer writes```and will, no matter who reads our work, or if no one ever reads it but ourselves.  I've always said that.
