There's a thing called SEO, or search engine optimization, that heavily influences where you articles end up in google searches. Try your best to use many keywords related to your topics.

Google uses other factors to organize articles (some known, some hidden), so do your best to write engaging content and sprinkle in some photos/videos. Writing on topics other writers haven't explored much also helps.

    @ Jeremy and other Hubbers
Where do we get the keywords from? Like, do we read other articles and pick up some words from there or use some helpful tool or something?
How would we know what are the best keywords.
What's the best advice for that?

Use keywords related to your topic that people are most likely to use when they do a Google search. If your article is on the health benefits of coconut water, people might search on "coconut," "coconut water" or "coconut health."

google.com/adwords Then go to tools and click keyword planner. It's designed for advertisers targeting ads but it also works for targeting an article.

Google crawls all websites on the internet... eventually. So it may take a little time for your post to show up in search. If it's a brand new personal blog it may take a little longer but I feel as though the hubpages website gets indexed pretty quickly.

If you are unwilling to wait you can submit your url directly to the search engine of choice. Just do a quick search with that search engine and it should direct you to the correct place to do so.

SEO and keywords are very helpful in helping you get to the top of that search once you're already in it. Backlinks (links to your article from other reputable websites) also help.

You can share or have others share with the groups or web pages that allow articles to shared. I have friends who have shared mine on facebook, pinterest and google plus. The more these places like and share, it will improve where you rank with google and other search engines. It also improves the more people read your articles that are members here. I have been here 8 months and mine are getting easier for others to find now.
