“Fall in love and stay in love. Write only what you love, and love what you write. The key word is love. You have to get up in the morning and write something you love, something to live for.”
    --Ray Bradbury

I actually got to eat lunch with Ray Bradbury years ago.  I was working in the executive suite at Universal Studios and a young visiting producer invited me to join him for a visit with Bradbury and a few other similar writers.  At the end of the visit, he, Bradbury and I popped over to a small family restaurant and had a great visit.  He was an extremely nice man and a pleasure to talk to.

What a wonderful experience it must have been for you. That would be a great article for you to write.

It happened many years ago and frankly I don't remember much about the conversation that day....just that it was pleasant.  Not enough for a hub, that's for sure.

Emotion-driven writing is indeed all I do these days when it comes to long articles. That and occasional shots at short, hit-and-run pages when I think easy money is possible.

If you’re not passionate about a topic (for example, health and wellness or food and cooking), it will be reflected accordingly in your writing.

If I am writing for money and the topic is drab, I find myself zoning out, my body aches, and I can't keep to the topic. I even find ways to avoid the work.  Writing with love or passion is so much easier.

Lovely quote, remind me with Mary Poppins...I draw what I like. I like what I draw, real every body write about what he loves

The quote made me think of Queen Victoria, who used to write for hours every day and filled 122 journals, many about her relationship with her husband. She started when she was 13 years old. Her oldest daughter destroyed many of them for the "sake of the family" and I often wonder if that's what Victoria would have wanted. Clearly, she loved to write, and likely wrote about what she loved, at least most of the time. A thought-provoking quote.

I am fascinated by Queen Victoria. I watch the PBS series, though I know it is dramatized for viewership. I find it interesting. She and Albert changed the course of the world and brought so many new ideas and technology to the world. I would have loved to have read her journals.

Kenna, I watch the PBS series, as well. I've read comments about how frustrating it is that they include scenes that have nItothing to do with Victoria or are clearly not historically accurate and I've noticed that, too, but when you watch a series written for PBS you can assume they will create characters to add drama. Sometimes, though, I wish they'd stick with the true story. Her life was fascinating enough!
