I've been told that one of my hubs is a candidate for getting moved up to a niche site. Yeah! Howeer, the editors have a request that I don't know how to fulfull.
They have asked me to change my photos from "half-size" to "full-size". I don't know what that means or how to do that. I just uploaded them originally. There was no "size" involved so I don't know how to fix this. Can anyone help me with this?
Hi Diane,
This means your images are too small to show up full size on your articles. The editor is requesting that you upload larger photos that will fit the whole width of the article. We recommend using image files that are at least 1000px wide or wider.
I think this is correct. Try it and let me know. If not, maybe someone else will speak up. I think you need to go to your hub and go to "edit." One the right side of the screen, you'll see "Organize Your Content." Click it and the text and photo capsules will appear. I think if you double click the photo capsules they will become "full-size." Let me know how it goes. If anyone knows this isn't correct, will you please help her.
I suggested in another one of your posts that you use a photo editing program that allows you to change the sizes of your photos. If you take your own photos on a digital camera, you can set the size you need right on the camera.
Yes, basically change your camera settings to take larger file size photos and then upload them to your article.
or if they aren't original photos then try to download larger file size photos
I tried the double clicking thing and it didn't work. All it did is pull up the little menu for select/copy...that sort of thing.
My photos are always taken for large size. I checked the first photo and it is 1515x1136. I have no idea how the system uploads it. I am really technically ignorant, so all the suggestions you make for setting specific pixels and such just go right over my head. I know what pixels are, but I don't know how to manipulate them or do anything with them.
The system won't let me post a link to my article so you can see it, but it's name is Backyard Birding Do's and Don'ts.
I appreciate any help...hand-holding...you can do to help me with this. I'd kind of given up on Hub Pages since all the changes have left me earning practically nothing, but I keep my articles up...just in case a few crumbs come in.
Diane, you can potentially earn very well here, but only if your articles are moved to niche sites. If they stay on HP they are those that have not succeeded, so you really need to listen to that advice that the HP staffer (Christy) gave you and reload some other photos so that this will be moved to a niche site.
If these photos were moved over from Squidoo I would try to upload the same photos from my computer (If you still have them). Another former Squidoo person said that her photos became small during the move. I looked through a few of your hubs and many of your photos (that I saw) look small, so if that is the case they all need to be edited and the photos replaced. I cannot tell you if this is worth your time or not, but I can tell you that if you do not edit and improve them you are never going to be earning much here.
There are a lot of good suggestions on this and the other thread. Sorry nothing worked out for you, so just try to replace those photos from the originals on your PC.
If you have a desktop or laptop you can use Paint to resize photos. Resizing usually works best when you are downsizing, so if you pictures are really small you may have to find larger pictures to use.
Thank you everyone for your help, and Dr.Mark for you encouragement. I have kind of just let my articles sit, so your advice to revisit them and see what I can make better is very good advice. I will make an effort to go in and work on them.
I wound up re-uploading all of my photos and replacing some that just weren't working. I got them all fixed, and an Amazon mod that wasn't working was deleted, so that should take care of it.
Also, sorry for the duplicate post. I thought the first one didn't go through so I posted again.
I really appreciate the community here, I have always found everyone to be so supportive and helpful. Thank you again.

My article has several different headings, each about a specific person. So I would like to add a photo of each at the heading. But how can move the photos that I've already upload on another capusle to the right place?

I went into one of my older hubs to add a photo and got this message:"It looks like some images in this capsule appear to be reduced in size. Note that saving any changes made to this capsule will update the size of these images to fit the capsule."After adding a new photo, all the...

In a recent HubPages weekly email, it was discussing the fact that many use photos and do not provide a source. I was thinking that this may easily be addressed by HP by requiring a source in the source field inside the photo capsule, whether it is "self" or the Freedigitalphotos,...

I may be the only person that feels this way but I really don't like the look of our hubs. I think they would look more professional if they were wider. They remind me of blog posts.

I know traffic is a problem everywhere it seems; I'm not talking about low traffic, here. We all need to be aware of the HP's photo capsule may be affecting our bounce rates. There is a real problem if you use the photo capsule for anything-- even the intro photo. I'm NOT referring to the images...

In looking over my edited hubs, I find many inconsistencies. Some hubs will be changed so that all large photos are seen (for mobile viewers?), others will be changed into thumbnails, others not changed at all. Some photos are moved above the text capsule, others below. What does HP now consider to...
