I just wrote an article about the digital revolution and it was published two days ago. Just a day after, I noticed that a website hosted by WordPress.org has displayed the article as theirs
They even copied the title "A Very Brief History of the Digital Revolution - Also Known as the Digital Shift" and used the main idea as the concept of what their website was about. The images are also copied. But they deleted the sources list.
I checked for the owner details on WHOIS and found none. The website itself looked like a suspicious phishing scam and laid out as if written by a newbie in India. I don't think it's a good idea to contact them via the contact details provided there.
I need some help here. How to best deal with this issue? Does HubPages staff offer any way to file the DMCA takedown with them?
There is a hub on my carousel about filing DMCA's, specifically about finding where to file. You might check it as it goes beyond the whois site.
Don't forget, too, that the best option is usually to file with the hosting service, not the web site.
You can notify HP and they will provide info that will help you to file a DMCA. However, if the author is not in the US or some country that supports DMCA complaints, it won't do any good. You can, however, report them to Google https://support.google.com/legal/answer/3110420?hl=en and if they feel you are correct, they can remove sources of income from that site or possibly the site itself.
It appears that the offending website is not indexed with Google yet, but I have filed a report for the un-indexed urls anyways, thanks Timetraveler2.
Both the WIPO Copyright Treaty (WCT) and the WIPO Performances and Phonograms Treaty (WPPT), the two treaties implemented in the DMCA, are in force in Indonesia since 2002 and 2005. (I'm not located in the US..) Local bloggers I observed on Blogger have been filing content takedown and been penalized for abuses (usually deletion of copyrighted content).
Since I published the article on HP, I thought maybe there is author support team that can help with this
Thanks so much, Wilderness I have been in communication with the domain registrar - the only link I found from a lookup. Your experience in resolving similar issues in the past is a great help.
Hope it works out. We're all plagued by thieves, which is why I wrote that - a small return for the great help I received over the years.
Good luck!

Do you have stolen hubs on sites hosted by WholeSale Internet, Inc.? I have found that they refuse to obey DMCA takedown notices and the copyright agent hides behind his secretary. I never can get passed the secretary, Lauren, who answers the phone and refuses to connect me with Aaron Wendel,...

I'm pretty dejected right about now. I spent some time with an analytics tool to determine if I should pursue DMCA takedown requests regarding my copied hub, Girl Scout Wide Game to Celebrate Juliette Low's Birthday. In looking at the statistics, traffic to my hub has decreased by approximately 70%...

A few of my hubs have been copied by a site hosted by GoDaddy. I looked up their page about copyright infringement and something about the DMCA wording and the way that the counter notice was worded made me a little nervous. The GoDaddy reaction to copyright infringements seemed too extreme to me....

I recently found the entirety of one of my hubs, including images, reposted on Quora as an answer. After submitting a DMCA claim, the author of that answer filed a counter claim. His arguments are:- He posted the link to my hub before the duplicate content.- Tens of thousands of Quora members do...

I'm so angry. Today I got the little red circled C warning me my content was stolen. A quick scan in the plaguirism checker showed that someone had copied one of my game guides word for word onto their site. Do they not realise that just adding "Source: (link to the LevelSkip article) doesn't...
