Michelle Obama stated  while gloating over meeting her husband ,   you all tell me that if a "white privileged" person said this in reverse , THEY would be called out for racism ?

    Ready ...1 ....2....3... No racism there ?

I  wasn't asking anything , I am pointing out a racist remark from Michelle Obama , yet had  if been said in reverse by a white person wouldn't it be called racism ?

Anything said by a white person is racism. Don't you know that?

Here’s the rest of the quote:

“"I have my suspicions when a bunch of white folks fawn over a black man because I sorta think, 'Okay, he can talk straight so they think he's wonderful.' ”

Which you have to also remember is in the context of the 80s.

I’m not sure how reversing it would even make any sense to compare the reception of that comment in the first place.

Poor Ed, perhaps if he were black he could almost see the remark in context? Nah.....  tongue

            What is the point?

"I have my suspicions when a bunch of white folks fawn over a black man,” Obama stated. “Because I sort of think, OK, he can talk straight so they think he is wonderful. So — so that was my theory, and then his name was Barack Obama. He was from Hawaii. I thought, what? You know, so I didn’t really know what to expect."

She is saying she expected him to be the kind of black people privileged white people like -- the ones who act the same as white people and get congratulated for being "articulate"/

What is racist about that?  That was her experience.

              Boring. You got the point.

The fact that you can’t even explain “the point” beyond saying that it exists is rather telling.

Psychskinner is just as much at fault as are you, PPanther and Randy Godless. Have fun with the world you will create.

What world are trying to create, LTR? Your bio tells us nothing about you. Are you simply another nameless, faceless right winger who's afraid to be known, but want to get your two cents in anyway?

                    And again.

Please explain how you feel that comment would work in context with a white person saying it and how it would be racist. Clearly I am missing the point that you feel is so clear.

I'm kinda surprised you didn't zero in on her saying she would never forgive Trump for his loud and extended promotion of the ridiculous birther nonsense. Or take her to task for noticing the homogeneity of Trump's inauguration crowd. Especially that one, since you and other Trumpeters frequently tell us you don't see color.

As you say, some of the country counted heads by color in the inauguration.  And some didn't.

No, some people happened to notice the whiteness and were disappointed by it; some didn't notice at all (I didn't notice, but I wasn't there); and some don't think that a sea of white faces in a presidential inauguration crowd is of any significance at all.

And you, a white person, can't honestly tell me that if you were looking out at a crowd of mostly black faces that you wouldn't notice.

You must mean like when 90%  of blacks voted for Obama , that " sea of faces " signifying crowd mentality?

It's always interesting when the people who cry "racist " at the drop of a hat even where it doesn't exist can't see racist remarks coming FROM black people .    And it's split right down the lines of ideology !Interesting  huh ?........That's how we know the only systemic racism is in the party OF the left.

I understand Michelle's Obama's train of thought perfectly well .
