The present was looking for the future. He knocked on the door. The past answered. It was tense.

    We Have a Post!

    From somewhere here:

"I see bad things everyday (we all do). I see things which I cannot affect; I simply walk away. You are posting because you think you can change things. It might actually happen, lots of people read these things."

This past Sunday, after 4 months of hiatus due the COVID-19 virus, a group of our members from the Fencers Club got together and fenced outdoors...it was a wonderful reunion, wearing face-masks and practicing social distancing...

Huh! Fencing works! Also, the matches are less than 15 minutes in total, to my understanding.

Each match is either 5 touches, 10 touches or 15 touches. 1 minute break for 3 minutes of bouting. A typical bout lasts only 5 minutes, for the 10 touches.
A tournament consists of a round robin of bouts for the preliminary round to establish ranking. After that, it is a direct elimination down to the final two. A tournament can last 3-4 hours depending on the number of participants.  It is one of the safest sports in the Olympic.

I am not much into composing poems, but here on HubPages, I have compiled around 5. So lockdown has increased our creative writing skills.

A positive story, huh? I think we can all agree that it's hard to find something positive in these times, but here goes my story (even though it's kind corny). When quarantine started it truly didn't know what do to with myself. I read all the books I could get, watched every move, made some diy projects, but I felt like I didn't contribute to anything meaningful. But then it came to my knowledge that a lot of residents in my building are older in age so I decided to help them out. I printed a piece of paper, put it in the elevator and wrote that I'm offering help with getting groceries from the store, any needed medicine or contacting there doctors. A lot of people, who need, help, wrote their floor number and names on the paper. The next day I went on an adventure of helping them out (yes, I'm the Frodo of my building). I can't describe how fulfilled and happy I felt. It affected my confidence, in a positive way of course. In a few weeks, other younger residents decided to join in a help our elderly, which was really beautiful and compassionate. And know when quarantine is kind of over in my country the community in our building is stronger than ever. Everyone is so lovely to each other, spend more time together and just hang out. So I'm pretty proud that I made some of that happen.

That is wonderful. You found a means of outreach to those that came before. I hope you continue to enjoy that spirit of compassion and also keep up your sense of adventure as you age gracefully.
