   I was told, on an ongoing basis, that I should work to get more articles life on the niche sites relative to HP. I got one up on the  29th of December. The next three consecutive payouts, were the lowest three consecutive ones that I've seen for a very long time. Furthermore, one of them, the one for yesterday, is the lowest one I have seen since posting a handful of new articles recently.
   
   I get that it's the New Year, but other than that, it's worse than Christmas in terms of income. And that, right after having an article moved to a niche site. It's quite ironic. I am not sure I get why income dropped so much.

   I suspect most people's earnings have dropped over the last day or so. It's just the time of year. And having one article moved isn't going to make a great deal of difference.
   
   When you say 'payouts', you mean daily earnings, yes?

   Oh yes, that's what I mean. Lol, I have my own language, it seems.
   
   My earnings dropped by an average of 50% per day, so the drop is huge. As for the article being moved, it's the third one moved to a niche site, so I thought it might make a difference. But then again, how long after it is moved that it takes to make a difference--that's something I don't know.
   
   I am at this point believing that it's unlikely that the hard work it takes to have an article moved to a niche site, isn't worth the effort. I don't say this to counter those who have stated otherwise, but rather, I'm viewing this from what I have seen so far, from the perspective of my own experience.

   I think you just need to hit a rhythm of writing for HubPages (or rather Google). It takes a while. I know that I can write an article and it will automatically be moved to a network site within a few days. After a lot of practice (and I have quite a lot of trashy articles from years ago that are undeserving of a niche site) you kind of hit your stride and it becomes easy.
   
   I follow a basic article structure almost every time. I have my topic and my subtitles, then I'm ready to go. I edit as I write and rarely go back to re-edit. As soon as it's written, it's published. I've never had one rejected... but again, it's all down to persistence and an understanding what works. I write to fit HubPages, rather than trying to make HubPages fit my topic. I write for money, not for artistic expression
   
   I used to write for two psychic/tarot sites. I had to churn out three 1k articles a week for three years. I had to research the topics and find some way of approaching them that fit with the site. It was good practice and made writing for HP much easier. And it fed the family
   
   Also have a tarot website with Google Adsense - doesn't earn much but I get an Adsense payment every two or three months.
   
   I haven't written much lately as I've been busy with other things. I shall get going again soon.
   
   As to earnings - well in 2018 I hit over four figures - now, it's barely half that. Today, my earnings are also down 50% from December figures. After a while you learn to roll with it and not to rely on consistency... because there is none.

   I am sure I will benefit from this insight. Thank you. I too could care less about the imprint I leave on this world impression-wise. I want to achieve something while here, but not through writing, necessarily. I want to make moolah too. Lol...

   For the record, to anyone who might be following and be interested in what happens next--income is still dropping.
   
   I should add though, that the precise ups and downs I have experienced, directly correlate with the nature of seasonal advertising, and the traffic that those advertising draw or doesn't draw.    My CPM is 50% of the December average too. It's quite normal though. If it helps put your mind at ease, writing new articles can in no way lower your income. The only way it could lower your income is if you are writing a second article on the same topic which results in you losing rankings on the first article. This only applies if most of your traffic is from Google.
