We have thousands of pictures taken for virtual tours of towns in New England. The tours are posted on YouTube, etc. We think there is value in posting the individual pictures. Where and how should we post the pictures for the highest visibility to the consumer and SEO?
That's quite a coincidence you mention this. I published a virtual tour hub the other day.
Unique images are gold. That is why image hosting websites so freely let you fill their sites for free. I built an automotive site for a man who has thousands of classic car pictures. He was posting them on sites all over the Internet, he got a few hits to his site from links on the picture sites. When I told him to stop giving away his gold and put them on his own site, his traffic went up 20 times. If you do not have your own website that is another thing. If you do get a site, install Coppermine Photo Gallery. It is usually included free in your website hosting account. I could not believe how fast this program gave me hundreds and hundreds of links. It is real easy to install and set up. If you do go that direction let me know if you need a hand.
Im not knowledgeable enough to tell you, but google images can be effectively utilised through hubs. Just name your image with a keyword phrase, and images in hubs will normally show on the first two pages of google images for those phrases. The real revenue is brought when they subsequently view your hub, as adsense ads on slideshows/images are generally pretty low paying.
Thats just my personal experience, hope it helps. Personally I think that images are best used as a means of driving traffic through google images etc....
Photos on HubPages are reasonably optimized for natural search. It helps to write captions for the photos when you upload them and to make sure the Hub has a strong amount of information.
Traffic from image search is one of the fastest segments on HubPages.
if you have quality photos, absolutely post them in your hub.
you will notice traffic coming in from google image searches.
Well, i can answer your question.
Make the pic uploaded to whatever sites you need but just check to add Captions to it and Provide Strong keyword to it too.I hope you know what a Keyword is.
Check the HTML after you upload to some blogs or what. You can see the div tags. Give unlimited keywords there so that it make the Picture easily crawlable and Search friendly.
Hubpages allows caption which is equal to adding keywords to Div tags. Also Tag Them and Most importantly Give them proper name if the site offers showing the file name.!
Hi,
I run several blogs and I always make sure I tag the images correctly with a descriptive file name, title and alt text. You can even give the image a description for added search engine love.
Over time I have received thousands of visits via Google Image search. It's a great way to get some extra visitors for very little effort.
If you want to exploit your images here's a suggestion to get some more traffic.
1. Open a free account at Wordpress.com and make a new blog - call it something like "www.yourbusiness-photos.wordpress.com ( you could use Blogger but my success has been with Wordpress)
2. Start making regular posts, each time uploading a new picture ( making sure you give plenty of descriptive information in the image tags)
3. Write a short description of the picture with some more descriptive text.
4. Include a link back to your main site with either the image as a link or some anchor text of your choice.
This tactic will over time create lots of relevant back-links, improved keyword rankings and great exposure to Google Image Search users.

One thing that I've noticed in my traffic stats is that one particular hub about a particular acoustic guitar - seems to be doing better than other hubs about what I would think would be guitars that are more sought after. So I looked at the hub that is doing so well, and tried to figure out why...

How many of you use social media like FaceBook to attract traffic to your websites? What social media do you use? Is it worth spending time?

I have had the lowest earnings from since the time I first made anything on HubPages as of late. I took a look through the forum and couldn't find reference to others having the same problem. What I'd usually make in one day, all of a sudden it is taking me a week to make. Is anyone else getting...

There is a lot of bad SEO (search engine optimization) advice out there, and the use of automated services that procure backlinks to your Hubs is one particularly egregious example. Using services to get backlinks can result in your Google AdSense and/or HubPages account permanently banned. Yes, we...

But I am wondering why there seems to be competition in the real google world and no competition showing for it in the external keyword tool world?

I haven't been active in probably 1+ years on here other than checking in. I am wanting to get more active, but not sure what to write about these days. I have been debating what types of hubs to start writing and was wondering if product reviews or recipes actually get many views, or if I should...
