Hundreds Protest Terror-Trials in NY

    They don't want trials, but military tribunals?  We're not in a state of war now.  (Though we have men in Afghanistan).  If those guys aren't given public trials, how would we ever convince someone it wasn't a setup?

    As someone already mentioned, this should have been long done by now.

    America has used military tribunals in the past.  In W.W.II, some Nazi spy was caught coming ashore from a U-boat. The guy blew the whistle on his comrades (including reporting about their planned sabotage).  The guy who talked was given 40 years.  The rest were sent to the electric chair the day they were convicted.

    Though some may say we are at war now, there is a big difference.  First, Germany was much more powerful than these terrorists, with a government behind them.  We are currently only trying to remove the small amount of resistance left.  Second, the U.S.A. was formally at war when they came ashore.  They were, as such, subject to the laws of war.  Spies are subject to execution upon conviction by a military tribunal.  They may be immediately executed if caught on the field of battle.

    Finally, holding a public trial for those terrorist will prove to the world we have a fair and equitable system.
