I generally use Kontera for a little bit of extra cash at the end of each month, and in total in tends to bring an a nice pocketful of cents just to make life a little bit sweeter.

It usually takes around 9-12 clicks to reach the mark of around a dollar a day, however, looking at yesterdays statistics I earned $3 off 8 clicks.

I am assuming that most of these clicks were low value, but one or two were in the dollar value range.

Has anyone actually ever looked at optimizing Kontera before? is it possible to take Kontera and actually earn a decent amount from it?

I'm really new here, and just looked at it for the first time today and found 3 cents there.

I see you chatting on the forums and give lots of good advice. Just thought I'd let you know that I read what you say and like it, so I'll watch where this conversation goes to see what I learn.

To be honest I've concentrated more on Google Adsense and optimized that - but now that Google is working well for me and also as I did see an uptick in Kontera last week thanks to increased traffic, I might look into optimization.....I'll be interested in what others are doing with Kontera....

The highest earning click I've ever had from Kontera has been 3 cents. Most clicks are 1 cent or less, and only yesterday it occurred to me that when people are clicking on Kontera they are not clicking on Adsense which usually pays a lot more per click, so bit by bit, I'm disabling Kontera from my hubs to see if my adsense clicks increase.

Since I created a hub that has about 500 hits a day (a week or two ago), the Kontera clicks definately got better - they went from about 1c a click to on average 30c a click - not sure why the increase in amount, but it definately correalates to the introduction of my 'successful' hub!

LOL, I'd be over the moon if any of my hubs even got 50 hits per day!
I'm just going to experiment a bit to see if I can increase my adsense clicks, and if I ever hit that much traffic then I'll maybe put Kontera back on.

Having only ever earned 3c from Kontera, I don't really take much notice of it. I leave it on, because who knows? But I do wonder if it's worth having at all. I've never even heard of anyone making a substantial amount from it. Has anyone? Can it be optimized?
For me it's just there, like one of those chairs in a corner nobody ever sits on.

I did leave it on for a long time, but could it be folk have clicked their ads instead of google? I get way below 1% clicks on my total traffic.

I'm not sure many people clck on Kontera ads. The underlined word is mostly inappropriate, then you have a number of choices of where you can go once you have clicked. It's easier to click on a Google ad; it takes you straight to where you want to go, and you know what the ad's about from the start.

I leave kontera on because it does't take up much in the way of advertising real estate, and earns me a little bit extra.

I don't really think of Kontera as competing with adsense, because they shoot for different visual areas, most peple will spot the top right in text Google ad before any kontera ad, but if they don't like the Google advertisement Kontera gives me one last shot at getting some cash outta them tongue

But they underline the silliest words in my Hubs; nobody's likely to click on them. Isn't it the same with you?

Haha that is true some of the time, every so often though they will highlight a good word which will bring you in a few dollars!

Hmmm. That one good word once on my Hubs was probably my 3c.
