If I posted full articles and I linked them to my website, which also happens to contain those article, would this violate any rules?

Yes, your hubs here should be unique content. You can link to your website only if the content there is not the same as your hubs.

Write related content here then you can post a link, however you would probably do better to just post the link to your website in your profile because multiple links from one domain is not going to benefit you at all. Posting the link in your profile will save you from being flagged or being over promotional.

Yes.  It is consider duplicate and self promotional.  Not a good idea to do.  HubPages is not the site for that type of promotional media.  Try Shetoldme for what you are wanting to do.

I have not had many issues with doing that.  I create original articles on hubpages and then a few weeks later I will publish them to my website.  There is only so much time in the day, and you can only write so many articles.  A certain amount of reuse and republishing is the only thing that keeps the internet going.  Now I would not link my article on my hubpages to the exact article on my site, but I often include a link to the main site page in the links section OR I will link it to a related site which then links to my main website.

It is my understanding that you can post duplicate articles on different sites, as long as you don't have links in the articles.  The only problem about duplicate articles is you may not get as many hits as unique articles.  What I did was hubs I first listed were from other writing websites.  Now I am writing unique articles for each of them.  For example, on hub pages I am going to concetrate on sports and Associated Content I write business articles.  When traffic starts to die down for specific articles, then I will post them to the other ones.  As well as AC, and hubpages I also write for Helium, Bukisa and Xomba.

bloody hell how did you get your Hubscore to drop so low?

Posting duplicate articles only hurts yourself and devalues hubpages.

My advice is don't do it.

HubPages will pull down any "duplicate" content it finds. If there is already a copy of your work on some other website, then you will not be allowed to post it here.

As a writer for HubPages....you are to write "original" content, which cannot be found elsewhere. smile

      Cagsil,

That is actually not true.  I received a message from the moderator that says you may post content that is also posted elsewhere including your own work on different sites but outbound links cannot be included.

Just because you 'can' do it doesn't mean that you 'should' do it.

I don't see why you can't do it if it is permitted.

You can do it, but if you do do it you are basically wasting your time, pretty much anyone in the SEO field will tell you that the real beenfits come from unique backlinks from high quality pages.

Remember Pagerank is a small factor in a much more important overall value which has been branded "Google Trust".  If you link from a site with tons of duplicate content it will never gain any 'Google Trust' and the backlinks will never realy gain a decent amount of value.

I wonder. Was it worth reviving a nine month old hub where the OP now only has a link to his blog on his profile and two 'hubs'; just to correct a respected hubber on a post made months ago?

      No, it wasn't worth it.

2uesday, other people may come across my comment and benefit from it.  If it wasn't a public forum and only he could see it, then I wouldn't have bothered.

For your information, Cagsil is no longer active in the forums, and unlikely to respond. He has announced his retirement at merely 30,000 posts.

I have only been on Hubpages for three weeks and thus have not come across the 30 000 posts.

Claire, it's okay to respond to a post in the forums, no matter how old.

I do think you're allowed to post content from another source as long as the rest of the hub is original and not merely copying it.

That's only if the hub doesn't appear on any other blogging sites.  When one of my blogs was flagged as overpromotional, and it does appear on other blogging sites, I removed all the links and it was republished.

They wont benefit from bad advice, it may be possible to do this but it is not going to benefit them.
