How to Spawn Trap on Call of Duty Black Ops 2 ( BO2 )

Updated on January 14, 2013

Intro

In this guide I will talk about the best ways for you to go about spawn trapping. I will talk about score streaks to use, guns, which map is best, the game modes, and teams to use for spawn trapping.

With that being said, before I get started let me say that I have started a clan with my co-leader on Xbox 360 for Call of Duty games.. To know more information about that go to massivekillingsquad.com

Also feel free to follow me on Twitter @Johnrr631992 or Twitter.com/Johnrr631992 to get links to my guides 24 hours before they appear on Google. I post everything on there first, along with other information about the game. So with all tat being said lets get to the guide.

What is Spawn Trapping

So what is spawn trapping.. If you have ever spawned into a guardian, or been instantly killed upon spawning then you know what this is. Spawn trapping refers to when a team is able to trap you on your side of the map, and able to kill every member of the team, over and over, without letting them move. Black Ops 2's spawns are so screwed up right now that it is perfect to spawn trap on, especially on certain maps and game modes. Me and my team have had games where each member has had over 125 kills, and less than 25 deaths for every member, simply because we learned the tricks to spawn trapping. While there is nothing more annoying than getting stuck in one, the fun of putting a team into one balances it out.

The Score Streaks for Spawn Trapping

When you are going to spawn trap someone you need to use guardians and sentry guns as your kill streaks. The guardians are significantly more important because there is nothing to defend against them, and with that, every player is able to be taken out by them. The sentry gun on the other hand can be defended against. Either way the main trick is that you need to have guardians on your class. After you get the first couple, and the spawn trap is going, you will be getting more and more as time goes on.

MY Video teaching you..

The game mode for Spawn Trapping

While this is very debatable of which game modes are best. I will honestly say that my team has the most success when trying our spawn trapping on Hardcore Capture the flag. The reason for hardcore is simple. You have significantly less health with no regeneration. After the guardians are in place, if done right, as soon as they spawn they physically cannot even get off an emp grenade before they are dead again. ALSO with capture the flag the spawns are locked each round and cannot be changed. A team cannot switch spawns, because they will be stuck on one flag side until the end of the round. SO once a team figures out each spawn point they will not be able to ever spawn without instantly dying. All of these benefits add up to make hardcore capture the flag the ultimate game for spawn killing.

Importance of a team.

Having a team when you are going to be spawn trapping is crucial. This is important for the sole fact that you need everyone to cooperate equally. Having 6 players will make starting a spawn trap extremely simple, fun and enjoyable. You will have no problem being successful when doing a spawn trap if you have the team that will help you complete this goal.

The strategy for spawn trapping

When you are going to spawn trap there are a couple things that you should remember. first off remember the placement of the guardians. Your goal is to make it so they physically cannot spawn anywhere without being in a guardian. You want to make sure that by being spawned into a guardian they have no chance at survival or getting off an emp grenade. Also the more guardians the better. Have them placed all over their spawn which is the benefit of having an entire team doing the spawn trap. You whole team should be equally wanting to the spawn trap and understand the benefits because without the entire teams involvement the spawn trap will not work at all.

Best Map for Spawn Trapping

Okay, so BY FAR the best map to set up a spawn trap is on Hijacked. The spawns on capture the flag hardcore on this map are very trappable. If you place guardians on the main deck on both side of the spawn, in the house up and down, and anywhere else you notice they can spawn, you will kill them every single time and they will not even be able to move. They will not be able to move, throw an emp, or do anything but die. Also having a couple players at the back of the boat in their spawn greatly helps each map as well, and this will allow you to have the most success when putting them in that trap, and getting a player that somehow does get out of the trap.

Guns for Spawn Trapping

As far as guns go, it does not matter. I typically use an assault rifle, or small machine gun, but whatever your preference of weapon is, feel free to use it. This will allow you to have the best success for getting hem into that spawn trap.

Summary

Overall everything needs to come together equally to put someone in a spawn trap. Everyone needs to work together in order to put a person in the spawn trap and for it to work correctly. After everything plays out, just sit back relax, and enjoy the carnage.
