New Scaris City Of Frights Monster High Dolls

Updated on November 19, 2012

On this page we are going to be taking a look at the new Scaris City Of Frights line of dolls from Monster High. We will tell you which ghouls will feature in this new theme and when the dolls will get their release date. We will give you a run down of what to expect from the City Of Frights dolls and also tell you where you can get these fantastic new Monster High dolls from.

The company behind Monster High, Mattel are always looking to bring out fresh new storylines and introduce new ghouls to the story. Since the first dolls were released back in 2010 we have seen various new characters brought into the story and a vast array of dolls released. Monster High dolls are now incredibly successful and Mattel are keen to move the story forward and build on that success as we move forward in time. The latest new release from the company is a theme called Scaris, City Of Frights.

New Skelita & Jinafire Dolls

The Scaris City Of Frights Dolls Are Here

So the new theme is based on a special episode of Monster High where the ghouls travel to the hometown of Rochelle Goyle. We know it is Paris, the City Of Lights, but of course in true ghoul style they know is as Scaris, City Of Frights. The special show is expected to air late 2012 or possibly even into 2013. The reality is though that Mattel will probably want to get these dolls out in time for Christmas so we expect the release date to actually be sometime in November.

When it comes to the dolls it looks like there are going to be quite a few released. Possibly the most exciting of the new releases are the two completely new characters that are being introduced to the storyline. First up we have Jinafire Long who is the daughter of a Chinese Dragon. She has an oriental look to her and she has some stunning long green hair. The other new character will be Skelita Calaveras, she is the daughter of a skeleton and is said to originate from Mexico. Her doll looks really good and the detail on her face is superb, she comes in the form of an actual skeleton so she is quite gruesome in some ways. We expect that these two new characters will feature in the regular episodes after this special, possibly they will return with their new friends and become students at Monster High.

Along with the two new ghouls there are of course the more regular ones. This travel theme looks like it will also include Frankie Stein, Rochelle Goyle and Clawdeen Wolf. These five new Scaris dolls all come with their own little suitcase that is unique to that individual, for instance Clawdeen’s has little moon pictures on it and Frankie’s has a lightning bolt. The ghouls are all in completely new outfits and they really do look the part. We are expecting these to have a release date of late 2012, possibly November. The price is expected to be around the $22 mark. Each doll will come with a travel journal, brush, and of course their luggage.

More Monster High Dolls Coming Soon

Along with those five new release from Scaris City Of Frights we are expecting Mattel to bring out a more basic range of dolls from the same theme. We are unsure if these will be released at the same time or possibly at a later date. So we are expecting four new dolls in this line and these should be Draculaura, Deuce Gordon, Abbey Bominable and Ghoulia Yelps. Again they will all be dressed in brand new travel outfits and we are also expecting them to be carrying little travel bags. These look set to retail at around the $15 mark as they are a little more basic that the previous Scaris dolls we look at.

As well as the new Monster High dolls that come with this theme we are also expecting there to be a little car brought out. This looks like being a pink convertible that you can fit two dolls into. There is also said to be a café play set designed to look like a little bistro in Paris. Information about these new sets is quite limited at the moment so when we know more we will let you know.

Away from the City Of Frights theme Mattel are planning plenty of other new release for the coming months. The one that has most people talking is the Ghouls Alive range. This features dolls such as Frankie, Clawdeen and Spectra. The twist though is that they all have their individual ‘freaky flaws’ displayed in doll from. So Spectra will glow blue, Clawdeen can actually howl and Frankie will light up as if electricity is pulsing through her.

There are other new dolls that are coming soon such as Scarah Screams, Headless Headmistress Bloodgood and Catrine DeMew. All these new dolls should be very popular and fans can’t wait to get their hands on them.

As you can see the new Scaris City Of Frights dolls look to be really impressive. This is one of the biggest releases that Mattel have brought out for a while and with the introduction of two completely new characters we are expecting this range to be very popular indeed. When these go on release they should be snapped up in no time. If you are a fan of Monster High dolls then we are sure that you will not be disappointed with these new Scaris dolls.
