   Will you be purchasing an XBOX One?
   
   Why or why not?  I'm undecided and the biggest factor to me is that it is NOT backwards compatible.

   I wont be getting any of the new generation of consoles - not for a while, anyway. At the moment, I have a laptop that's perfectly capable of running any new release games that I want to play. So, it just doesn't feel as worthwhile to have a console, as well.
   
   I know that the price will drop eventually, too, so I'll have another look at them when that happens.

   It's almost certain that I won't be getting an Xbox One simply because it's given such bad impressions, the bad taste in my mouth has not cleared and nothing has been done to make it taste any better. Sure they've removed a lot of their strict policies, but I don't like the price tag for most of the features I'm certain I won't use. If they gutted the console to the bare minimum of just the console, pad, power pack and AV leads, I might get it. But instead if I want it I have to fork out a good £500 or so just for most of the features I didn't want in the first place.
   
   Removing the Kinect is the first thing they can do to drop the price by about a quarter. I hated it the first time round and don't like the idea of it being on all the time. I have enough trouble with the laptop webcam, and I don't want Microsoft listening to me dancing in my pants singing S Club 7 hits. Once they've done that, I'd like most of the store features removed (and be available for purchase in future), so that can further cut down the price. I want a games console, not a hybrid media machine. This isn't a Judas Priest mascot, it's an Xbox.
   
   Finally there's no point in getting the new console if there's no games I like. There's no titles I look forward to except TESO, Destiny or Dragon Age, so I'm not paying £350 just for those two alone. Until I see a list of names that are going to impress me, instead of slow but steady releases, I'm not touching this console.
   
   If I was forced into choosing one at gunpoint it'd be the PS4 without a doubt. Even if it has the same capabilities, it's cheaper and didn't annoy me before it was released.

      Haha, I agree about the Kinect! I have one and something creeps me out when I play...like someone is watching me practice my Jedi moves.
      
      As for PS4, I'd be more likely to choose that too, BUT - I'm a total Halo groupie. *sigh* Thanks!

   What a brilliant idea these games companies have come up with. Every year they come out with something new and use the media to enforce the old " you want it, you know you really want it" idea to all of us, then the big money comes rolling in, add on's, new games (supposedly more exciting then the last) and the idea that you are at the forefront of a technological revolution.
   
   The last car I purchased cost me just over £600 and I am sure my interest will be held by it much longer than a new games console for around the same amount.
   
   How fickle we all are.

   I will be buying a Xbox One after several months of the release. There is a couple reasons for this. First,most of the flaws in the hardware will be in the newest manufacturing runs. The Xbox 360 had few flaws in the hardware.The main one was "overheating".Second, the price drop of the xbox one of course. The price at $500 US is a bit steep for me even though you get the Xbox One and the new xbox one kinect.
   
   I did come across this video of the xbox one.
   It shows the xbox one in a demo.It is about 12 minutes long and gives you an impression of the interface.
