Darksiders 2 the Toll of Kings Quest

Updated on September 8, 2012

Darksiders 2 the Toll of Kings Quest

In Darksiders 2, the hero must fulfill the Toll of Kings Quest in order to speak to the King and have the information necessary to find the Well of Souls. The Toll of Kings quest includes the hero trying to find the animus stones. This will guide the hero in trying to find the second animus stone and advance in the stages of the Toll of Kings quest.

Find the Second Animus Stone in the Gilded Arena

To find the second animus stone, the hero must head towards the door around the blazers that have been lit by placing the first animus stone into the statue in the arena. To do this, the hero must return to the first level of the arena at the level of the entrance into the arena. Here the hero must find a ramp which cannot be accessed. Instead the hero must climb up a ledge onto the next level. Turn left and head towards the lit blazers. When around this area, head towards the door and enter.

Darksiders 2 the Toll of Kings quest involves finding the animus stone. This will include finding the second stone.
Darksiders 2 the Toll of Kings quest involves finding the animus stone. This will include finding the second stone.

The hero horseman Death will reach a chamber with a statue carrying a green lantern. This is the first statue. The green lantern is hopelessly aimed towards an area where the green ray is wasted. Explore this chamber and the surrounding areas to find stairs leading up to a statue (the statue upstairs) where there is a fallen bridge and a shadow bomb lying on one part of the draw bridge that has collapsed. The idea here is to activate the fallen draw bridge and pull it up again. The second animus stone lies beyond the fallen bridge.

Use deathgrip to collect the shadow bomb and return to the chamber with the first statue with the green lantern. Destroy crystalline structures with the shadow bomb. This will reveal a pathway to a second shadow bomb. The idea here is to grab this second shadow bomb and throw it across the chasm so that it lands somewhere near the ceiling. Now transverse the two walls of the chasm and reach the other side. Use deathgrip to grab the shadow bomb. Use the shadow bomb to destroy the crystalline structures, revealing a panel on the ground.

Rotate the second statue with the lantern until it shines into the green lantern beacon on the locked gate here. This will reveal a small passageway where there is a green lantern. Taking the green lantern will set off a fight with some skeletons in a very enclosed space. Defeat the skeletons and return to the previous chamber with the second statue. Here the hero can place the green lantern on a panel to allow the gratings to come down. Now return via the walls of the chasm to the chamber with the first statue with the green lantern.

Rotate the statue so that the green lantern ray is shone against the gate with the second green lantern lying on the panel (where the hero placed it earlier on). The gate will open, allowing the hero access to the green lantern via deathgrip.

Go upstairs and place the second green lantern on the statue (the statue upstairs). Rotate the statue so that the green lantern ray is shone against the correct display. This will cause the draw bridges to be pulled up. Race across the bridge and descend into the lower reaches of the Guilded Arena.

Defeat the Monsters to Get the Second Animus Stone

History repeats itself. In order to lay claim and ownership of the second animus stone, the hero must defeat some monsters. Once the second animus stone is secured, return to the ground level of the Guilded Arena. Plug the second animus stone into the face statue and more monsters will pour out to defeat Death. Put them down and head for the lit blazers and the door that leads to the final animus stone.

The Toll of Kings quest is almost complete.
