Duell (not a typo) was a game played on a grid square board using dice. Instead of rolling the dice, however, you flipped them onto the squares, sort of rolling them across the board as gamepieces, to capture the king die of your opponent. I have been playing this game with my sister and cousins since middle school, but haven't found anyone else that has even heard of it.
