I think they are not due to the lead, plastics, etc. that they use.
i suppose they are. seems to me that my siblings and i grew up with lead paint on our cribs and walls in our home. we also never wore helmets on our bikes, never wore seat belts mostly because they weren't invented, and our parents smoked in the house, car, church, courthouse and restaurants. we all survived that and so did our kids.
why not ask, are our neighbors safe to play with. with all the lack of discipline towards kids nowadays, they seem to be less safe than the toys. just the toys get more press.
