What Game do you think you've spent the most time on...EVER?

I'm talking on or offline. Sure, I put in tons of hours into my FPS games now a days. But back in the day, I must've played ocarina of time much past the allotted time it took to complete the game.

In terms of total actual playing time, probably Mario Kart 64. I don't even want to know how many hours my family and I played that game for over the years of growing up.

In terms of length to beat a game? I'm on about year 10 of trying to beat Majora's Mask. Oh yeah.

For me it's a tie between Ocarina of Time and Final Fantasy 10. I played those games so much. In Final Fantasy 10, I would find every special weapon, item, beat all of the high level bosses then restart and do it all over again. As far as Ocarina of Time, I would just run around Hyrule field for hours, fishing, riding Epona, etc. Those were the days!

I don't think I could narrow it down to one game, but maybe by genre.I'm sure strategy games would have taken up the most hours of my life, because it takes time to build an empire. Followed closely by RPGS then sims/tycoon games. I have been playing a game on Steam called Children Of The Nile (ancient egypt strategy) and I have racked up 215 hours in 12 months ! smile

So far, the longest time I've spent on a game was Fallout 3.  I'm actually still trying to finish it 2 years later.  I don't know why, but I always find myself getting into the worst situation and having to start over.  Grr.

So hard to say, since most of my life has been spent in games hmm
But I suppose despite the fact that I play most of my games offline, it's the online ones that really took the biggest solid chunk.

So probably EVE online, got hooked on that for maybe a year and played it everyday, or maybe Counter-Strike that was on and offline and has to be close to the top.

World of Warcraft has undoubtedly taken up the majority of my game time. I've played it fairly consistently since it's launch in 2004. Other than that behemoth, I think the game I clocked the most hours in was the first Knights of the old Republic. Each play-through took me roughly 30-40 hours and I must have played through the whole thing at least three times.

I mostly prefer arcade games. But shooter games are also good. I can spend hours playing these games online.

I would have to say that the most time spent on a game would be a tie between Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic & Halo. I spent many a day being beaten for my wife the next day for being up all night, lol.
