      Actually I have?  So did you experience the same outcome with the glue sticks as well?

    Probably because it requires air to react with it in order to set up.  That's why we must keep our bottles of glue closed except when in use; if we forget and leave them open (so air can get in) then the glue sets up and hardens (and sticks to the inside of the bottle).
