I love doll houses. I bought an antique one from a shop in Texas for my niece when I visited her years ago. I wanted to fix it up with her. Make curtains for it, that sort of thing. My sister put it in the attic and it got ruined from the heat.
I bought my daughter a Fisher Price doll house when she was around 4 I believe. And then I just happened upon a yard sale. The couple had twins and sold me a huge doll house with all the furniture and people for $20. My daughter played with those until she was 8. Then she moved on to baby dolls and Barbies.
My 5 year old plays with ours often. My 3 year old son plays with it too - mostly with his dinosaurs just to irritate his sister. I can't give any insight into how long this will last, however. It's a good question!
