What is your opinion on the inFAMOUS series???
This game is the first console RPG I ever played and I loved every minute of it.
I'd only played the first game and for a short while at that, so my opinions won't nearly be as constructive nor reliable as those who have played it fully. I just didn't think it was very good; to say it was a watered down version of Prototype is an understatement. If it were any more watered down, it'd be drowning. The combat was poor, the story didn't stick, the characters were obnoxious and everything felt so unreal.... and not in the fun way. It was only a few months ago and the only thing I remember was the rooftop of the apartment where the two main characters spend most of their time.
I'd like to give other games of the series a try, and perhaps I'll give inFAMOUS another chance. Not now, but maybe next year or in the next lifetime.
I'm not sure I would describe infamous as an RPG as it doesn't involve leveling up or item progression (other than obtaining new super powers). I recently played the first game because it came free with my PS3 and I loved it. While the story wasn't really anything new, I thoroughly enjoyed the sense of freedom the game provided. It really felt like I could go almost anywhere. And, the more super powers I obtained, the more suitably powerful I felt. The later levels were also challenging without being unmerciful. Overall, it was a complete surprise for me. I probably never would have played it if it hadn't come with my system, so I'm glad that it did. I haven't got around to playing the sequel yet, but I look forward to the day when I do.
