Oh I've played the guitar a little since I was eleven or twelve years old. I only do it to entertain myself, but I realize I'm not shabby at it. I don't like being in crowds of people, much less having lots of eyes on me.
And if you can play the guitar some, you figure out you can also play other instruments like the mandolin some too. They aren't so dissimilar.
