Kingdoms of Amalur Defeating Gnarsh in Haxhi Dam

In Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, the hero must defeat Gnarsh the troll leader in Haxhi Dam in order to proceed with the main quest of the game. The Haxhi Dam area quest is triggered by meeting Alyn Shir in the House of Ballads, followed by talking to Nyralim the World Tree at Caer Nyralim. This will guide the hero in defeating Gnarsh and her minions in Haxhi Dam.

Kingdoms of Amalur Defeating Gnarsh's Minions

In Kingdoms of Amalur, the path to defeating Gnarsh lies in getting through Gnarsh's minions. When the hero first arrives outside Haxhi Dam, he is immediately besieged by a rock troll. The key to defeating a single rock troll is to stun the troll with shock, and then hitting the troll several times with the hero's weapons of choice. The hero must then roll away a few times to avoid the area and the swipe attacks of the troll. Repeat the above steps to defeat the rock troll.

Within Haxhi Dam, the hero will meet Alyn Shir who will offer to accompany the hero in defeating Gnarsh and her minions in Haxhi Dam. No doubt a match made in heaven ......... and in Haxhi Dam. Alyn Shir is especially useful when facing a rock troll in Haxhi Dam. Alyn Shir can distract the troll, whilst the hero can release a series of ranged attacks, including shock, arrows and poison daggers attack from afar.

In Kingdoms of Amalur Haxhi Dam, there will also be tons of Tuatha soldiers and raiders. These Tuatha raiders will include Tuatha mages who can unleash annoying vortex of whirlwind and nasty balls of fire against the hero. Vicious indeed! The hero must learn the art of dodging and rolling away and counterattacking. Otherwise prepare to buy and use lots of healing potions in the fights against the Tuatha in Haxhi Dam. After dodging these spells, counterattack with shock and poison daggers. Fast repeated swinging of weapons such as the daggers is needed here, or one can sneak in and take out the Tuatha one by one. Unfortunately, the backstab technique cannot work against the trolls as they are too large.

Kingdoms of Amalur Defeating Gnarsh

In Kingdoms of Amalur, the hero will finally arrive at Gnarsh's cavern chamber. Gnarsh is a reddish troll with a very mean swing of the club. The key to this fight is to avoid Gnarsh's club. Two strikes can take down the hero. The hero has to time himself and roll away from Gnarsh's attacks. Following this, the hero can stun Gnarsh with shock or other similar stun attacks. If the hero does get hit, keep quenching healing potions. One just has to bring lots of healing potions to this fight. Do not be conservative about these healing potions for this fight. As is the case with boss monster fights in Kingdoms of Amalur, save the fate points and full fate meter for this fight. Activate Reckoning at the appropriate time. In the reckoning phase, shock Gnarsh and repeatedly hit her with the most powerful attacks that the hero has. Then, use the reckoning final move on Gnarsh and watch as Gnarsh is defeated.

Report back to Nyralim the World Tree and move on to Ysa and the main quest storyline.
