Health Benefits And Selenium
Useful Minerals
I remember when I was a mortgage broker in the days of all . One of my co-workers would take this tablet every day (mind you this was nearly fifteen years ago). Since we were pretty chummy with one another the next working day when he came in he went into his desk drawer as usual; by this time I had made my way over to him, he took out this bottle and, popped a pill. Without hesitation l asked what are those? He said: Selenium.
This was the first time I had ever heard of such a mineral. He went on to tell me how the didn't want to get cancer. Like who does? Our conversation continued and he explained to me how selenium is a preventive measure against getting cancer and how it prolongs your life.
Selenium reacts as an antioxidant. I found this mineral fascinating with its many health benefits such as:
- Prevents hardening of the arteries
- Keeps skin looking young
- Aids pregnant women with health fetus development
- Pancreatic benefits
- increases sperm production
Brazil Nuts
Brazil nuts has the highest concentration of selenium in its natural food source form. Mushrooms are another natural source of selenium.
One interesting point is that men need more selenium than women do to the loss of sperm during intercourse.
When couples are having difficulty conceiving normally women tend to think the problem must be with me. If your doctor (gynecologist) has not confirmed that the problem has to do with you don't automatically assume it's you. It could very well be your husband's sperm.
Selenium and Your Swimmers

Selenium And Sperm
Selenium and Vitamin E have a positive affect on the prostate keeping it healthy.
Selenium also enhances the mobility of sperms which is important for fertilization. Sperms need to be capable of swimming to the egg to impregnant the woman's egg. Men who have sperm with low mobility rates can be due to the tail of the sperm breaking off causing it to be immobile. The mineral selenium can strength the tails in order to prevent breakage. Men who may have a selenium deficiency may find this problem.
Notice the photo below which gives a clear view of how the bulb of the sperm is attached to the tail. Selenium strengthens the connector to avoid the bulb losing the tail before it has reached an egg.
Cancer And Minerals
As an additional measure one can use selenium as a preventative measure to protect blood cells from free radicals. Once free radicals are in the circulatory system they can circulate through ones system; however, there is always a way to extinguish free radicals from attaching themselves, and becoming a cluster. This is way health care practitioners encourage patients to include in their diet antioxidants.
Free radicals roaming throughout the body are dangerous when an individual has a diet low in nutrition value, and absent of minerals. Minerals can help dispel free radicals from becoming problematic. Free radicals can be destroyed and busted up simply by including selenium in your diet. This is not a 100% guarantee, but it certainly does help to improve one's health.
