How To Live A Happy, Positive And Fulfilling Life

Updated on January 11, 2014

How to live a happy, positive and fulfilling life is something many of us really don't have in our life. We want to live with fulfillment, happiness and positivity, but there is just something missing in our life that are not allowing all three to take place.

That makes me wonder what might be the missing link to these three things that can change our world and our life.

What I have learned through my years here on earth is that happiness, positivity and fulfillment just doesn't come to you. These things must be sought out after, and keep driving to reach those goals of happiness, positivity and fulfillment.

Many people think that happiness, positivity and fulfillment are not and may never be in their life, but believe me anyone can have happiness, positivity and fulfillment in their life, you just have to want it and go after it.

Things That May Make You Happy

The way I found my happiness when I was down in the dumps crying in my beer saying, "why me" is that I made my mind up to do something about it and get out of the negative mood I was in and start thinking of some happy things in my life. You can do the same thing if you really want it.

I thought of all the fond memories I had at the Jersey Shore when I was young and it started to bring a smile to my face and a bit of happiness inside of me. Everyone needs to be able to have happiness in their life and as I said before it will not come to you, you are the only one that can make yourself happy.

There is nothing better in life than to be happy. Being happy and having a positive attitude, I believe, can help cure you in some cases when stricken by a illness or disease. It is a known fact that by the way you think determines what the outcome may be for many things in our life.

If you continue to think negative thoughts then what ever you are trying to do or what ever illness you may have will indeed be a negative conclusion.  Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that thinking positive or being happy will cure an illness, but thinking positive and have a positive outlook on life certainly helps with the healing process.

Do know what? Speaking of the Jersey Shore, I met my wife down at the same shore 35 years ago, never knowing that I would then meet her 5 years later and become husband and wife now for 30 years. That is what makes me the happiest knowing that both of us love the same place and after 30 years of struggling to make ends meet, we both now live at that same shore together, the same shore we met 35 years ago.  Being Positive and wanting that type of life all came true because of what we both wanted and keep that positive attitude that maybe one day we would have our home together at the Jersey Shore.  As they say, "All good things happen for those who wait".

My life is now happy, positive and fulfilling beyond my wildest dreams. When thinking back in time it brings a smile to my face that life is so amazing and that you never know whats around the next bend, so you had better live happy and positive and enjoy every minute of your life because you never know when your life may be snuffed out.

Stay Positive, Stay Focused, Stay Happy and a life of fulfillment is waiting for you.  Go after your dreams and goals and never give up until you reach those dreams and goals!

@ midnightbliss Yes you are right. It is up to us which way we choose to life our lives. Some of us just choose the wrong path in life and many never experienced positive things only negative in their life. Such a shame for them. Thank you so much for your comment!

Excellent......no doubt the secret of a happy and fulfilling life lies in becoming a positive thinker in all spheres of life and also learn to count the Blessings rather than the deprivations.Thanks.

Not easy keeping a positive attitude when your down in the dumps. It takes a lot of hard work but like you say "all good things happen for those who wait".Perhaps having an attitude of gratitude for what we have would reinforced our resolve to look at the brighter side of things kind of like the glass is half full instead of half empty :)

@ Denise Handlon sorry it has taken so long to reply to your comment Denise. you think that would make a good hub? I might get banned for being over personal as they say. I could write many books on my life. Maybe I will write about it but have to come up with a title.

@ Stephanie Henkel Thanks for your comment. I grew up in Ship Bottom LBI and there is no other shore I'd rather be at. The house I just bought is not on LBI but is only 6 minutes to the Ocean and the bay is right down the street. I love to go out in the evening and I can smell that salt air from the bay the minute I open my door. What a wonderful and relaxing thing.

Good Hub! While we can't control many things that happen in our lives, we can, to some extent, direct our thinking in more positive ways. I like your references to Jersey Shore as I spent many happy times there (Asbury Park, Atlantic City, Barnegat...) growing up -- there's something about the shore that helps our positive outlook, isn't there? I still love the ocean!

Wow, that's very interesting...I'd like to read more about that synchronistic meeting when you first met your wife and how it was that you met up again five years later. Maybe a hub??? Great sharing.
