Benefits of Jojoba Oil- 10 Uses
Skin becomes soft and smooth with Jojoba Oil
What is Jojoba Oil
Jojoba oil is one of my favorite all purpose oils to use for hair, skin and nails. I always look for natural solutions for all forms of personal care.
Jojoba oil is extracted from the seed of the Jojoba plant. This plant grows in Arizona, Northern New Mexico and Southern California. Internationally it grows in Israel, Mexico and parts of South America. The Jojoba plant grows from ten to fifteen feet high.
The primary uses for the Jojoba plant is for skin, hair and nails. It is kind of an all purpose oil just for external use. If you live in a dry climate as I do, this oil is moisturizing and therapeutic.
Condition your Nails
Jojoba Oil--Makeup Remover
Jojoba oil with its gentle and pure consistency removes makeup very quickly and efficiently. Dip a cotton ball in a small amount of Jojoba oil and gently wipe over your closed eyes. Wipe off any excess oil with another cotton ball. For cleaning makeup off the rest of your face, mix a drop of orange essential oil in a small amount of the Jojoba oil and dip your cotton ball in and gently go over your face and neck. I add the orange essential oil for the fragrance.
Healthy and Strong fingernails
I massage a small amount of the Jojoba oil around my cuticles and nails before going to bed. The oil really helps soften and repair damaged cuticles. Add a drop of tea tree oil to the oil as it acts as an anti-fungal for your nails.
Facial Moisturizer
Use a small amount of Jojoba on your face before going to bed to act as your night rejuvenating cream. I personally put some of this soothing oil on my face and hands when going out for a bike ride, which helps moisturize the skin in the dry Arizona desert. I add a small amount to my face during the day, particularly in the winter when we keep the heat on a good part of the day. Apply a small amount of the oil on your face before applying makeup.
Have Lovely Hands
Jojoba as Carrier Oil
Jojoba acts as a carrier oil for many essential oils. A carrier oil dilutes the strong essential oils. The essential oils are very very potent, and a little goes a long way for most applications. I often make many mixtures of different oils for different conditions.
A favorite blend of mine is rosemary, peppermint and lavender oil combined with Jojoba oil. After sitting at the computer for long periods of time I really feel the physical stress in my neck and shoulders. I massage a small amount of this blend around my sore neck and in about five minutes the pain is gone.
Hair Tamer
Add a few drops of the oil to the ends of your hair before using your hair blow dryer. Be careful to use a very small amount as it goes a long way. As a hair tamer rub a small amount into your dry hair before going out.
Condition your hair
Hair conditioner
After a shampoo and time to add condition to your hair, pour a few drops of the oil to your favorite conditioner. Leave the conditioner on your hair for about three minutes and massage into your scalp. Rinse your hair with warm water.
Condition your Feet
All Over Body Lotion
Joba oil is very soothing and gives your skin a smooth and silky feeling. I blend a few drops of lavender oil in about a teaspoon of Jojoba oil and apply to my hands, arms and feet. I usually put on a pair of socks to hold the oil.
Hair Oil Treatment
I use this oil treatment about every five or six weeks as I have very dry hair. I take one tablespoon of Jojoba oil and a couple of drops of lemon of oil because I like the fragrance. I massage it into my scalp and wrap a towel around my hair. I keep busy on the computer for two hours while conditioning my hair. After this time I shampoo my hair and it is soft and manageable.
Have Pretty Lips
Try Jojoba Oil
Lip Oil Mixture
I have lot of fun with mixing Jojoba oil with different essential oils for a variety of uses. I tried mixing a small amount of the jojoba oil with different essential oils for a moisturizing lip gloss. I experimented with peppermint, lemon, grapefruit and orange. This oil for your lips is extremely moisturizing whether you are inside or outside. Put a few drops of the Jojoba oil and essential oil in a small plastic cup and stir. Apply the mixture to your lips with a q tip.

Unique information and such awesome benefits sounds like a wonder oil.
This looks perfect for my split ends and dry skin - I must search for jojoba oil here!
Hi Carol7777, I have this old, but rarely use it. I now have some good tips from you.
These are very useful and interesting uses for jojoba oil. Something I wasn't aware of. Thanks for sharing.
Voted up, useful, interesting and shared.
I recently bought some jojoba oil and love it! I've used it as a skin moisturizer and makeup remover, but I never thought to use it as a hair tamer. I'm sure that will be much better than the silicone stuff I've been using and less expensive, too. Thanks for these great ideas!
I love jojoba oil. I used to buy it by the tub! Thanj you for all these great ideas. I don't know why I'm not getting notification on your hubs but I just found this one. Up+
Hi Carol! Very interesting. I love learning about natural beauty treatments. It looks like Jojoba covers it all. Thanks for sharing! :-)
Thank's for responding to my question..Cheers...
Will try this natural remedy. I have heard a lot about jojoba, but have never really tried it out! Thanks for the introduction!! Votes up and passing this hub around.
Great list of uses, Carol You are fortunate to be right out there where the plant grows. Do you have any growing in your yard or is it difficult to grow? I really do not know much about it.
the only way I have ever used it is as a conditioner. But I am always looking for skin and nail moisturizers so am very thankful for this I am bookmarking it right now.
Sending Angels to you this evening :) ps Voted ++++
Great hub, Carol! I'll have to ask my wife if she's heard of and/or used this oil. Every now and then, she hands me something she's picked up. Lord knows I'm in need of more moisturizing. Ever since my late 50's, I've been skin-dehydrated. I miss the island coconuts! : )
On another note, judging from the huge number of comments you get on your hubs, I am guessing your HP net worth is starting to take off. If so, good for you and well deserved! Have a wonderful day!
Gonna have to check this out. I have never heard of Jojoba oil before. Thanks carol. I love learning new things.
Carol...In full agreement with your tendency to go for the "natural" means, ingredients and supplements. Jojoba oil is great stuff....years ago, I used the pure oil for body massage....the jojoba shampoo and soap as well. Every few months I switch to other natural oils.....at the moment, I'm into almond oil. Love it too!....Great reading, Carol...UP+++
Carol, this sounds like a winner in so many ways. Thanks so much, especially with me being out and about as much as I am!
What stores sell jojoba oil. I have never heard of it. I am definitely interested. I want it for the skin and hair. I have so much static electricity in my hair, it won't lie down, hopefully this will help. Thank you for the share..
I have used this oil to condition my hair and I love it. Now, thanks to you, I have other uses for it. Thank you. Up and useful.
I never knew that there were so many uses of jojoba oil. I am always looking for the natural products.
I never heard of jojoba oil. The properties of that oil seems quite interesting! I also like to use products with less chimicals as possible. I have been using argan oil for my face and for my hair as well since about a year. I will have to compare the two oils.
Jojoba oil has been a part of my beauty regimen for quite some time. I absolutely love it!
Thanks for this insightful hub here on the many and beneficial uses of jojoba oil! I will try this one out for sure.

Another great and useful article Carol. I have used this oil on my face before but didn't know about its other uses. Thanks to you I can put it to a better us. Voted up and sharing :)
Jojaba oil certainly has a lot of uses for the body. I have not heard of this option before and so glad I stopped in for the education.
Just wanted to tell you I think you added jojoba oil as a makeup remover twice- once in the beginning and once in the end. Delete my comment! Just wanted to give you the heads up :)
I'd forgotten about this oil. I used to use a product that had this in I believe. Thanks for the reminder as I could sure use some right now.
Some our most useful products are the simple gifts of nature. Thank you for reminding us of one of those gifts.
I must live under a rock. I have never heard of this oil. How about I pass this on to Bev. I have no doubt she will put this knowledge to good use. :) She will probably even have me trying it once she reads the Hub.
Good information, Carol, and nice research and presentation.
I simply love Jojoba Oil. I never thought to use in on nails or hair. I will give this a try!
Good hub Carol...I've used Jojoba Oil for years too and I just absolutely love it...I have a friend in her mid 70's that has just only very VERY faint fine lines in her face and she swears it's because she's used Jojoba Oil for decades as a night oil...and she puts it in her hand creams and makes a lot of her own concoctions..as I do....and I add Jojoba Oil to everything....
