After Facial Exercise-Turn Back the Clock

Updated on August 10, 2013

The exercises are easy and painless to do

This is me doing the brow lift.
This is me doing the brow lift.

What is Face Exercise

Face exercise is a natural way of exercising the face to tighten the muscles and stave off signs of aging skin. If you faithfully perform these facial exercises daily the contour and texture of your skin will begin to show improvement. The isometric resistant exercises from Facial Magic have been proven to work.

You Will Target:

  • eyelids
  • eyebrows
  • upper cheeks
  • around the mouth
  • double chins
  • jaw line
  • turkey neck

I personally researched many of the face exercise programs and tried many of the exercises. My exercises of choice come from a company called Facial Magic. I find that Facial Magic exercises are easy to do and take a short amount of time each day. Each week you will see continual improvement on your face and neck. Take your own before and after pictures so you can compare your improvement each week. After the initial few months of doing the exercises daily, you can cut back to a few times a week to maintain your new face. The bottom line is that these exercises work as long as you perform them. And the best news for me is that these exercises have improved and kept my facial contour.

Comparing Facial Exercise to Other Methods

There are many methods of improving your facial skin tone and elasticity.

Plastic Surgery--costly and not permanent

Laser Treatments--resurfacing, not permanent and variation of results

Filler Injections--Instant gratification and expensive as you need to redo these injections at least three or four times a year..

Electro-therapy--Painless but varying results

Botox Injections: Expensive and temporary

Fat Injections--Puffs the skin and claims to be permanent

Chemical Peels--Fairly painless but temporary..both light and deep peels are available.

Facial exercise is the cheapest, easiest and lasts the longest amount of time, for the simple reason that you do it every day in the privacy of your home.

Personal Story

I met Cynthia Rowland four years ago online. I was writing my book and wanted to research facial exercise. She was so generous with her help and we became fast friends. We supported each other with our endeavors. I had the pleasure of meeting her in person and even spend a few days at her home. Along with her gracious hospitality I got a complementary treatment. I continue to do these exercises everyday. So far I have a sturdy chin and good cheek bones. As I am older I choose to continue the exercises daily for about 15 or 20 minutes. I also have purchased all her facial products and feel it has been a worthwhile experience.

Hi carol7777, this is not a new topic for me, but I am glad you filled in the details. My Mom has always massaged her face. Perhaps it's in our genes or maybe her exercises, but she looks like she's in her 50's when she's near her mid 70's. Hand-in-hand, I learned from an older friend that one should never scowl. I have always paid close attention to my facial expressions, and I never scowl. I have taught my children at a young age to stop scowling by stopping them when they do it. It's always better to stick to basic techniques instead of taking shortcuts involving surgery. Thanks for sharing. Voted up, useful and interesting.

Carol- I recently saw this technique on TV and I thought it was interesting.. and now that I've read your hub I am even more intrigued. I have to say the before and after pics are very impressive. This is definitely worth looking more into. I really don't understand the popularity of Botox.. sure it prevents wrinkles,I get that but at the same time what is the good in it if your face looks frozen. To me that isn't a good trade off. I have never heard of the lip vacuum though and that sounds awesome. Thank you for sharing this .. Voting up, useful, awesome :)

As we already know, exercise is necessary to keep our body in shape, so it would be the same for our face. I cannot say when is a good time to start. According to Cynthia..anytime after 25...However probably when you start seeing some changes. And you are right there is no easy and quick fix. But it does help keep the face looking younger and healthier. Thanks for the votes.
