The Parties Over

The most commonly reported characteristics of a hangover include, headache, nausea, sensitivity to light and noise, lethargy, diarrhea and thirst, typically after the intoxicating effect of the alcohol begins to wear off. While a hangover can be experienced at any time, generally a hangover is experienced the morning after a night of heavy drinking. In addition to the physical symptoms, a hangover may also induce psychological symptoms including heightened feelings of depression and anxiety.

The parties over and now your sick . Too much food and way too much drink.

Head hurts , stomach upset and feeling blah..

What a way to start off the New Year..YUCK!

Stumbling out of bed, you wish someone would please stop spinning the room, Oh My God my head hurts you mumble as you try to yell "turn off that darn jack hammer", rushing to the bathroom. You quickly grab the trash can as you sit not sure what is going to happen first. Oh lets not go there okay, lets just shut the door on that one.

How to get rid of a Hangover

A Few Too Many ?

What to do if you had to much to drink the night before:

The first thing you will probably do is, Swear "NEVER AGAIN"

If you have over indulged the night before then you could be suffering from a hangover.

If so you are probably dealing with some or all of these issues..

  • Dehydration
  • Gastrointestinal distress
  • Headache
  • Dizziness....Oh my gosh the room is spinning
  • Irritability...

It has been said that drinking alcohol will help..It may..but it is just delaying the inevitable.

Here are a few things that may help:

  1. Drink lots of water
  2. Take some vitamin C
  3. Eat a banana if you can stomach it..it will replace some essential salts
  4. Eat something with sugar, alcohol lowers blood sugar levels
  5. Take some pain relief tablets, such as Tylenol, AVOID ASPIRIN, as your stomach lining is most likely sensitive due to the alcohol
  6. Sleep.. That's right.. if you can sleep it off
  7. DO NOT DRIVE: The alcohol is still in your system.
  8. Tomato Juice : its been said that tomato juice is good for hangovers . Apparently there is truth to that. Tomato juice is very helpful as well as useful remedy as it provides electrolytes that the alcohol has purged like potassium, sodium and sometimes magnesium.
